HUGGER COMBAT REMOVAL TEST (Monday Feb 6-Sunday Feb 12)

First things first, these things are the 3 most important:

1. We are going to be TEMPORARILY removing hugger combat.

2. We will NOT be replacing it right away.

3. It WILL return after the conclusion of the test (sometime on Sunday Feburary 12).


We are looking to see the EXACT effects hugger combat has, and the best way is to remove it. We'll do some additional testing during the week on it as well as some tweaking. Understand that it WILL BE RETURNING. This is just a test, and is by no means any demonstration or proof of anything we are planning or working on implementing. This is simply so we can see the effects on round that it has and that happens when it's not there.

So, before you make that salt-filled ragepost onto the Xeno sub-forum, or start complaining to reddit that we are making horrible changes remember this: THE REMOVAL IS ONLY TEMPORARY AND IT WILL RETURN SOMETIME ON FEBURARY 12TH.

So, relax, breath-in, and try to develop new strategies so we can see how combat adjusts. Hugger combat has been something we've discussed at length, and we feel the best way to move forward is to isolate exactly what it does, and how it affects gameplay decisions by aliens so we can determine which route we want to go with it for the future.

Also, know that we fully expect the aliens to get totally fucking dominated for at least the first 48 hours. Sometime during the test, we MAY make some modifications to how the xenos function. If we do, I'll post them here. The goal here, is for us to observe the gameplay and how aliens adapt to the loss of hugger combat.

But again, PLEASE REMAIN CALM. This is only a test, and anything long-term is a good distance away and will be thoroughly tested beforehand.
