Thinking I should start maining MP if we're going to be rushed with shitlers. Someone might yell "brutality" but when you're dealing with a baldie shooting at marines or an annoying cuck, nothing is too brutal.

I really doubt saul freytia could ever be MP. Just stay away from command or mp and you will have less chance of getting a perma ban.

I play MP more often than you'd think actually. And I do a damn fine job at it when the need arises.

Until recently, that was pretty much true.

We'd listen to anything anyone said, no matter how obscure or silly and we are probably one of the most forgiving servers out there until permabans are concerned. Even then, we've removed some permabans other servers would never touch.

This is also the same guy you spent a solid month speaking to BYOND about having his odd ban issue resolved.
Just goes to show the repayment of some players, especially this guy of all people.

He's referring to when Lcass had a weird ban issue (he wasn't banned but his account was glitched and linked to a ban) and I spent several weeks going over the ban database with Byond Tech Support, and even talked with whats-his-name that owns byond now for awhile and we went through the stuff.

In the end, I spent around an hour with Lcass, as I went through the banlist with him removing bans to find the one he was glitched into.

Do you need to be reminded that this is a free-game. On top of putting hours into work, dev and HOSTING the server APOP went out of his way FOR ONE player who was having an odd issue.
He spent a solid month resolving the issue for this player who he didn't owe anything to at all. The player didn't pay for this guy, offer any benefit what so ever in return.

APOP resolved the issue and that player is now COMPLAINING about server staff and being "fair".


What APOP did was the definition of fair, it's exactly what you just said... he helped him. The player is not ENTITLED to help, he was given it because APOP is a nice guy and went beyond his usual means to help him which is something most of us do ALL THE TIME.
It's selfish and extremely self-entitled of him to complain about staff, especially given his issue in particular.

Byond is a free system as well. They have volluntees to help with technical problems. Just like on this server. So if i needed help since my game was not loading, i am not allowe to ask for help? Feweh that is not selfish.

Then what was your point? I was pointing out a obvious hilarity that said player had no right to complain. Given his remark about staff not being "fair".

I provided a adequate proof and logical reason behind why I called him and further more you ASKED for my reasoning.

So dont ever fucking tell me to keep quiet after asking me explain something again. Apop is more than welcome to do what he wants, likewise im more than entitled to defend him from a selfish player with no appreciation for what was done for him.

Seriously I respect apop and I'm thank full for what he did for me and I know that I have been pretty shitty regarding certain behaviour on the server.

Fair enough if this was very recent , compared to places such as goon station and yogstation you guys are pretty relaxed about temporary bans although making people write out an essay to get unbanned is a bit strange but we all have our ways. Permajobbans instead of timed ones are a bit dodgy but I can understand why you do that , the issue I got from this statement was how the playerbase is micromanaged sometimes and even the mention of any criticism of the server is jumped upon as demonstrated by my forum warning over the slightest criticism ... by an admin who gave it most likely because I wasn't respecting the length apop went to get me unbanned , I get it however as I have stated I am grateful. Now I don't know how true this situation is but not allowing players to increase or change ID ranks (excluding demotion) without admin permission is pretty shitty , threatening to ban players for killing one monkey (I get the issue here involving xenos however this was 30 minutes into the round , the marines had already setup and they had killed only one monkey) and then muting me because I was defending them in looc whilst saying over OOC how you should be respectful of the admins. Simple fact here , if you wan't the players to respect you then you need to return the favour which can be an issue in a few cases.

I get this may have come off quite cynical and may even annoy some of you however that is not my intent , I am criticising the server in order to try to help out however my pretty abhorrent writing skills may not make it clear that this is my intention. To simplify this all I am saying is leave the playerbase to their own devices more , it's usually fine but there are certain situations where it shouldn't be an issue , accept or inquire about criticisms about the server instead of handing out forum warnings over minor slights against your own views and don't just mute your problems away or tell people to respect you , talk to them about the issue (unless there is a surge of ahelps that require attention).

I would like to point out the totally reasonable response that apop gave and how he handled the situation well , given his responsibility and the actual amount of work he does around here it's nice to see such commitment and staying cool under criticism . The forum warning was not put in place by him.

This is a code related issue with how our squad assignment system works. Unless you are demoting someone, it screws with the auto-balancer and auto-assigner (which is also why ID theft is a bannable crime). I'm pretty sure that's stated somewhere stickied. As far as fixing that, unfortunately, there's not much we can do other than rewrite the entire ID system, which is on my list of things to do.

You butts depending on anesthetic injectors and eventually looking to them after every little conflict due to constant use is annoying. The anesthetic injector completely removes your ability to play the game and giving that power to a normal player (nonstaff) is dangerous. Even though you may think you use it responsibly, what about everyone else that has access to the tool..and should you really be trusted to use it at your whim? You haven't been accepted as an admin, and only admins are the ones trusted to and capable of using the "sleep' verb. I was once a CMO and a doctor injected me with it cause he disagreed with my policy to treat SSD patients...which was the only patient currently in medbay. Personally I'd like the anesthetic injectors removed. They're useless.

Don't worry, as CO it will be fun having excuse to call execution for greytiders, showing em who's boss. I can handle greytiders any day, have had greytiders act as terrorists, and etc, actually might be the reason why as CO I have had soo many executions lately.
