1. I didn't mean to call anyone out. I grabbed, quite literally, one of the random quotes I saw about the sprites and pasted it into my reply. If I called anyone specific out, I'm sorry about that. I was at around hour 10 of programming the update and it was 4am. I literally saw a quote, copied it, pasted it. That was it. Literally everyone knows, I don't just call people out for no reason. That's never been my thing.

2. They are the new sprites and that's how it's gonna be. We are adding more stuff in slowly, and as I get them. If you guys have issues with them, we have a BIG OL' SUGGESTION FORUM where you can suggest improvements instead of "SHIT SUCKS". It's much better to explain WHAT you don't like other than "it looks like it's gargling cum".

3. Anytime there's ever a change, everyone flips their shit, then a week later everyone is like "it is better this way" (maybe there's some lingering cuff salt...). But really, it's almost like, I've got a degree in this... and teach it... and have been doing it for years... or something.

And I'm not deleting this. Literally anyone on the face of the universe can tell I that I delete pretty much nothing unless it's redundant. I mean, LOOK AT THE ARCHIVES.

Now, that doesn't mean I won't lock the shit out of this if it continues to be an unnecessary source of salt/drama. But, I did warn everyone about that in the recent Grey-tide thread.

However, I would like SOME staff attention to the other thread, particularly from the heads of staff. Just because it's civil doesn't mean that they're paying attention to it, and I think they're definitely more tuned in to this one than the other. I sincerely hope that nobody thrives off of the salt found in outbursts like these, because that means we'll achieve less whenever anyone raises a complaint or question.

See, here's the thing though. In their current state, the new sprites aren't better.

Hunters revert to their old sprite when they stalk. Hivelords disa-fucking-ppear when they walk. When they die, they revert to their old sprite. Carriers don't even have a south facing sprite, as well as a dead sprite. When a Runner dies, it reverts back to it's old Sprite, albeit MUCH smaller. Some of them are absolutely laughable, really.

I mean fuck, the Praetorian is taller than the Queen. Pretty sure the Boiler is too.



I didn't even know which one was which when I first saw them. I don't blame you if you can't tell them apart either.

Now don't get me wrong, the Sprites look great. They look amazing. Just for how detailed they are for being on SS13. But as of right now, they shouldn't be in the game. They completely contrast with the rest of the Sprites on the server, and look out of place as all fucking hell. My dead honest opinion is that these should not have been added in when they were. Even Fridge, the person who sprited them, has said the same. It should've been held off until the rest of the resprites, that being, the resin, huggers, eggs, etc. were ready to be added in as well. As of now, they are horribly broken and it feels like they were added to just put more fluff into the Xeno update, which in itself, needs some changes and balancing.

I've been playing this server long before Apop was host and i would like to say this: Apop is, and probably will ever be, the best host for Colonial marines. Why? well, through the three hosts who have tried to revive this server, and the countless before hand, he has not only exceeded but EXCELLED at hosting this server. The first host i saw never got on, and deleted the code for the whole server when it went down. The second created a shit station that had no work put in it. Now, about the sprites and the mechanics, i quite like it. i play queen and marine equally and, as a marine, even though i'm probably going to lose, i enjoy the fight personally. as an alien i still find it challenging to win. Now, the sprites on the other hand. i have played a few rounds with them, and it took some getting used to but i quite like them. and i would also like to give props to the man who created them. they are very VERY detailed and your not going to find ANYTHING close to that on any other server. Anyway, on to the main issue: when you said that most of the playerbase disliked the sprites, and you spoke on behalf of the player base, i got quite offended. Why? BECAUSE you have NO right to say that 70% or whatever the fuck you said dislike the sprites and whatnot. You don't know that! and dont say its true because it REALLY isn't. people may not LIKE them but as far as i know no one really HATES them. The whole reason you posted this was to get attention, and you have got attention my friend. You can't solve this by using harsh words or arguing because in all honesty, that solves NOTHING. All it does is make others angry. so my friend, i recommend to concede to defeat, and just don't try to solve anything until you calm down, look at the problem, and then state your point. got it? i'm out. I've said this from the start. I like the sprites- but they don't fit, and if so, why push them in? Most people don't want the grim dark feeling aliens, old ones were alot better to fit our style, so again. Why change something that aint broken, and make it worse?
