Come one, come all, and try to escape the horrors of Bristol Port Refuelling Station! If you signed up with Weyland-Yutani to live and work in BPRS well, today is not your lucky day. Some days ago a ghost ship appeared on the scanners, and it didn't respond to any communication attempts. The ship? The USCM's USS Sulaco. It was forcibly docked and the station's administrators were quiet about the whole ordeal. Now, horrible monstrosities seep from the vents and the walls! You need to get the hell out before you're either sliced in two, melted where you stand, or dragged screaming into the darkness.
Think of this experience as a co-op multiplayer Alien: Isolation, only with a shit ton more aliens.
This thread explains the gist of this game: viewtopic.php?f=129&t=11236
But I will reiterate the basics of this game for the lazy:
you come to a crossroads and do you turn left or right?
Well everyone who picked left got turbokaflunked by a fire breathing ravager so they are now out of the game.
If you picked right (geddit) you survived, and you will be given another multiple choice question alongside your fellow survivees.
The setting is a non-canonical refuelling station in the Colonial Marines universe, which has currently undergone a xeno outbreak. You would all play as civilians desperately making it to the escape arm where the last evac shuttle is taking off, whilst running from the ravenous xeno horde. You'd be moving as a big group together to make it easier for me. Nothing too serious and no stats or anything, it'll just be me setting the scene and you choosing A, B, or C. After a few days I'll organise who went where and make a new post saying who moved onto the next round, etc. There's room for some roleplay but it doesn't have to be too serious.
So, some in-game explanations:
In-Game Mechanics
* After a description of the group's current surroundings, there will be several options to choose from, in the form of A - do so and so B - so do and do C - blah. These will determine your character's actions for the next round.
* Each player has 3 Health. 1 = On death's door 3 = Peak fitness.
* There are various items in the game that can help (or harm you). Each player can carry a maximum of 3 items.
Item List
First-Aid Kit (Heals 1HP) [III Uses]
Stim (Heals 1HP)
Side-arm (Weak Weapon, Range: Near, Far) [II Uses]
Shotgun (Strong Weapon, Range: Near) [III Uses]
Pulse Rifle (Strong Weapon, Range: Far, Near) [IIII Uses]
Blowtorch Kit [II uses] (For welding things shut behind you)
Crowbar (For forcing things open)
Flashlight (For lighting your way)
Flares [II uses] (For lighting an area up)
Multi-tool (Generic electronic device for hacking)
* All items will have circumstantial usage based on choices. This will be represented by [ITEM], signifying that the item can be used during the decision to help you out. For First-Aid Kits, if you use them I will assume that you use it on yourself unless specified otherwise.
* For the few weapons I've thrown in, bear in mind that they might reduce the threat of the enemy but they are loud so they will undoubtedly attract more xenos. The tide of enemy is unstoppable so you'll never, ever have enough bullets to stop them.
* For items without specific amounts of uses, I might just take them away from you due to various happenings - run out of batteries, it breaks, yadda yadda.
* Items can be traded between characters when I specify with a [TRADE] - showing that you have time to stop, breathe and exchange shit.
* There may occasionally be times when the group can splinter, and I'll handle the areas separately. There is still only one destination you're all heading for, though.
In-Game Rules
* When making your decision each round, use the forum formatting to quote it, from my post. This makes it easier on me. In addition to this, keep in any [ITEM] text related to an item you wish to use for this decision.
* You only choose a decision, not how the decision is handled. (For example if the choice is A - Search the car, you can't say "I search the car but only the glove compartment", nah buddy you search the whole car and you find the facehugger in the back too.)
* Be aware that I won't let you PVP - this is a cooperative experience. You can roleplay using the weapons as leverage in-game but no one will be beholden to anything because you wouldn't waste ammo when there's a horde of xenos on your tail.
* Just cos you have a varying health stat doesn't mean you can't die in one decision, given that the decision is dumb enough.
* I'll typically wait a couple days to wrap up and move to the next choice, or until everyone has made a decision - whichever comes first. If you don't post in time, I'll move you with the majority.
