Eternal's Eats!
I got bored and I have begun a sort of tradition to occasionally bake something really nice and delicious and somewhat elaborate..
I will try to post here sometimes!
Last week it was banana bread, and this week..
Cinnamon Rolls! Yay!
This is my first time making homemade cinnamon rolls, so they were not perfect, but pretty good. I'm sure they will only get better as time goes on!
A huge amount of preparation, ten minutes of straight, tough, dough kneading and using my oven as a proofer resulted in some of the most delicious treats I have ever baked at home! Everything was made from scratch here, and boy it was worth it.
I will try to take more pictures of the process in the future if anybody is interested, but I want a place to brag about my baking fun.. so.. yeah.
So basically you make the dough and proof it so it is nice and big and poofy, spread it out in a rectangle, spread cinnamon sugar (A mix of cinnamon, brown sugar, a pinch of salt and shortening or butter) over it, then roll it up.
So after cutting the roll into smaller pieces, you let it proof a bit more to fill the pan like so
And here is two shots of it fresh out of the oven, and after I moved it to a separate plate.
Thats all for now folks! Now.. I don't bake often but I will try to post here when I do!
It is both a hobby of mine, and my job that I do, so..
Until next time!
P.S If anybody has any suggestions on something I should make, or you need any information (Recipes or something?) I am more than happy to share them. Anytime I find a good recipe I try to write it down in my book or on my computer so that I have it more easily on hand!
I'm always open to ideas on what to bake, I like to challenge myself.

No surprise, you'd even eat the metal tray.

Re: Eternal's Eats!
I made a pie!
Yes, look at it. All.. blueberry-y.
And Pie-y.
Yep. It's a blueberry pie.
I used knives to make the flakey dough as I don't have a pastry blender.
Then I spread it out and made a filling out of blueberries, cinnamon, and sugar.
Then I made a pie. As you can see
First pie I ever made, ever, and everything is from scratch.
It is really yummy.

Re: Eternal's Eats!
My hero, if I'm honest, making pie is like really fucking hard. For me at least, because half the time I use pre-made crust, or at least me and my mom does (I'm still only bab) then the crust ends up on breaking because we got fukin Gorilla hands. The rest isn't as hard, but I mean ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Does Cheesecake count as baking? Because if it does, you should totally make cheesecake, or possibly some macadamia nut cookies while they aren't "cheap" they're totally work making. Never made a batch myself but ehhhhhhhhhhhh.

Re: Eternal's Eats!
I totally will try cheesecake next, then. YEah! And.. You can see where my own unsteady hands messed up the crust.. it tore into a few pieces while I was picking it up, hence all of the blueberry leaking through..
But yes. Cheesecake next.
Unfortunately I might have to wait a bit till my next baking, but we'll see.

For next time, I suggest using paper towels.

Re: Eternal's Eats!
I'll just buy more parchment tbh, I used most of it the day before and I didn't realize until I was like.. 90% done the rolls so I wasn't about to go out and get some.
Haven't gotten around to getting more yet, but maybe. I don't know.

Here is the promised cheesecake!..
I can't eat it for a day until it sets.
And I think I messed it up.
We'll see.

Hmm....
How much did that cheesecake cost you and how did you make it? On another note; how did that cheesecake taste and can you provide the less, attractive qualities of it?
P.S I'm going to Gordan Ramsay the shit out of these desserts.

You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. Re: Eternal's Eats!
Oh boy.. yes I can. Basically, I used a graham cracker base on the bottom and baked that for about fifteen minutes, then I made a batter out of cream cheese, sugar, eggs, sour cream, lemon juice, and vanilla. This was poured onto the base and baked for an hour, then allowed to cool in the fridge for about a day and a half.
The cheesecake itself is delicious, however, the water bath (submerging the pan in water while baking) slightly leaked into the bottom due to an improper seal. The graham cracker base has taken on a rather nice, slightly gelatinous form. It is fine when it is thin, though in the thicker parts of the base it is slightly off-putting due to the texture. That's really the only bad part about it. The cake itself is nice and fluffy, tasting exactly as cheesecake should, the base, however, is slightly off.
The cheeescake is expensive to make, I bought many ingredients over a few days so I can't exactly tell you how much it was, just that I will probably not make it again for awhile, or next time I do I will make sure to buy the ingredients in bulk, as there was quite alot of them.

Re: Eternal's Eats!
Make sure you bake the graham crackers first, crumbled in the pan, and it needs a water bath while you bake the cake to maintain the fluffiness, and you need to make sure you cool it for atleast a day and a half before consumption, otherwise it tastes and feels off. It should be eaten cold, preferably with your choice of sauce. Here's the recipe I used. http://www.canadianliving.com/food/reci ... eesecake-1 I'll PM it to you too!
I warn you, it is pretty expensive to make, though, so make sure you plan ahead. The amount of cream cheese alone is like ten dollars (At least where I live)

Re: Eternal's Eats!
It is going to be a whatever thing I feel like making thread ^^
Also there is lemon in the cake itself, just a bit.
Also funny story, I thought it would be funny to take a squirt of pure lemon juice as I was making it. Do not do this, it is not fun as it is not simply lemon juice, but lemon juice that has been concentrated about 10x. It is not pleasant like the normal taste of lemon
