Philosophy Central
I am fascinated by philosophy, and moralizing, so I thought I'd make a topic in which one could do that. I thought I'd just offer some statements and see what the community thinks (I don't necessarily agree with these).
It is acceptable to commit acts of evil in the name of good (i.e. banning Communism to preserve democracy).
Society is ultimately a means to an end, that end being the betterment of the individual.
We should consider all sentient beings in our moralizing, and should ascribe human rights to them as much as possible.
War is sometimes necessary to preserve peace.
Humanity should continue research in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
A human being is inherently evil.
When a society in one such that its constituents govern themselves (democracy), it is dangerously weak, and will ultimately succumb to other systems of government.
Happiness is not important.
To live a long life is to trap oneself.
Discretion is the better part of valor.
To doubt one's decisions after the fact is non-sensical.
Mourning after death is a pointless endeavor.
Five lives will always outweigh one.
Think on those, discuss, and feel free to pose your own.

Re: Philosophy Central
Is that a bad thing?
Perhaps, by taking the effort to do this, you are actually the one who's "gay".
Why?
Philosophy will win this. You can't beat why.
As an addendum, Lumdor, I gave you the Honor of glorious death inside research today, how could you turn around and stab me in the back?

Re: Philosophy Central
Read Kant, my father told me about him and I learned about him in college.
A good quote by Orson Wells: "We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone."

Humanity is horrible, life is meaningless, the universe is a simulation in a nerd's basement, insert something here.

See above.
Why?
This literally (literally also means figuratively now, so I can say this) never ends.

Re: Philosophy Central
You're a creature who sees the world in color, which is nothing but a construct by your brain to better perceive the world around you. You are living in a Masquerade unable to distinguish what "reality" is.
You are forever plagued with never knowing the entirety of human knowledge, and will experience an unfathomable amount of time being dead.
Live your 100ish years while you can, embrace nihilism, stop worring about the small stuff.
