So I wake up from cryo, I skip meals altogether because i MUST be at req first. Upon arriving at REQ my first question to the CT is "Tooo Gryoooo" upon receiving my no i make attempts to climb over the REQ counter and most likely get stopped by an MP, this cannot be allowed to happen, I open fire on the military police man shouting barely understandable slurs in between rifle shots. I advance down the REQ line firing my rifle, taser bolts streaking by like bolts of lightning, upon incapacitating an MP i loot his MP belt and sprint away from req to hide. Its at this point I receive a *BWOINK* Oh look! Its a moderator! I then proceed to insult the moderator in any possible means before receiving my 3 hour ban and a firm talking to by an admin. LMAO better go post incoherent shit on the forums till im banned!

Literally signed up to post in this thread. I've 'played' with Aoi Bell on one of my first few games about a month ago. I was just a PFC sent down to Solaris Ridge holding LZ1 FOB against the xenos. Aoi was our specialist, a sniper with dual SMGs—no, I don't know how he juggled his inventory, just one of the many mysteries that is Bell.

Our orders were to hold FOB, and slowly, facing impossible odds, the others squads started dying out. Eventually Command orders Alpha to split. Leave a few PFCs behind to guard LZ, the rest head out to Lambda. So it was, a small contingent of boots to hold and face certain death. Radio chatter was ominous: "Smartgunner down! SL down! Get me that OB! Where the fuck's our spec?" Where the fuck indeed.

After a few minutes of this, a quiet tension-before-the-storm at the LZ, squad comms go silent and I'm suddenly promoted to SL. Me, a PFC with no experience in the game. Oh shit. My first thing was to have Alpha check in. Two PFCs respond, one aboard the Almayer. Well fuck me! ARES' report comes in, we're outnumbered by xenos. SO and CO ask us to retreat. I go to squad comms and order retreat.

This is the first and last time I hear from Bell. I don't remember the exact words, but it was poorly typed, nearly incomprehensible, and basically told us to go fuck ourselves and push. Our SO started yelling "Bell!" in the comms, since he was assumed KIA with the SL and smartgunner, but he would never respond again.

My memory is hazy after that point, but let me tell you... besides a few stragglers, the xenos never attacked FOB full-on. Reinforcements, newly-awoken or otherwise, started arriving in droves, and we eventually won that game.

As for Aoi? Well, later I learned he was running around the colony solo fighting xenos with his sniper and dual SMGs—no, I really don't know—and being that he was the only marine not at the FOB at the time, I was convinced he was part of the reason the xenos never attacked. Why else? We were outnumbered and FOB was looking weak. The rest of the colony was crawling with monsters and nary a human besides Aoi himself, running around without a care in the world. Never got any hard proof, but some radio chatter confirmed he singlehandedly held down an assault through Security with his sniper at one point. He survived 'til the end of the round.

When I heard Aoi was perma'd, I was simultaneously unsurprised and saddened.

As much as Aoi was hated, he taught me basically my entire survivor strategy, ranging from being aggressive, yelling insults, distrusting muhreens, hiding spots that still work, and much more. Also, as a survivor I learned that aliens are pussies for the first 10 minutes roughly, so the quicker you find a friend, the better off you are. Feel free to make a shit ton if noise the first 2 minutes, and to run to said noise of you hear it, because you'll group up faster. After about 10 minutes try to quiet down unless you're being aggressive, but remember that the ayys can see through walls.

First time I met Aoi was on Big Red, me and him hold off the xenos away from the NE flank of security with a pair of shotguns, he was a good player but his behaviour was his doom.
