Beno or marino, what's the most absurd death you've ever had?

For me, I've been tossed into cargo by Bill Carson. This is the result:

Fought my way to an escape pod during self destruct, hopped into the cryo bed, but for some reason the door malfunctioned when it jettisoned and I was exposed to the cold vacuum of space for the whole journey. Suffocated to death while in cryo.

As a marine, I was acid spat to death by a praetorian while I was behind cover and near allies. It just stood there after spitting me into crit and continued spitting at me until I died while everyone else nearby were shooting at everything but the prae. I wasn't revived.

As a praetorian, myself and a group of xenos got cornered and CASed hard. All the other xenos died pretty quick, but I managed to survive with a sliver of health left. Turned the corner and got gibbed by a single burst from a pulse rifle.

Id say as recent as a month and a half ago.

I've seen evacuation pod doors usually fail to close when xenos are on/in the doorway.

In fact, I've made it happen to marines before as a xeno and have had it happen to me several times now. You're screwed no matter what I think. Your only hope would be cryo, ghost, and lie to yourself that you IC lived.

Most ABSURD death...Lots of good deaths here but the most absurd would be the time during the purge I tried, with the other POs, kidnapping a doctor and sacrificing them. The doctor got away and drugged all of us POs. They then delimbed us and threw us in the hallway. I bled out. I've never fucked with doctors again after that.

It doesn't end there though. Those same doctors later went on to murder all of the MPs via the same way. I awoke a monster that round. Never again. Never again.

A couple weeks ago on big red, right after they fixed the click change melee madness, I was a ravager making runs out of the north wall of of the research compound into broken marine emplacements below atmospherics. I aimed to charge through a gap in the defenses on the east side but my charge took me through a claymore and into a sandbag strewn with barbed wire. The inertia from the charge bounced me off the sand bag into another claymore and right as I manage to get my mangled body up on two feet and begin limping back to the safety of the xenos lines the OB came down.

I felt like i was in some kind of macabre rube goldberg machine there for seconds.

Getting punched to death by a doctor during the kung-fu ridiculousness was goofy as shit too.

Basically any of the times I tried the CMP role. I got murdered by marines while trying to defuse a hostage situation where someone accidentally set me on fire with a flamer and I ignored that to keep negotiations open. Only to get AP bursted by a different marine when I offered to take the hostage's place.

Or the time as CMP a pred got on board and we cornered him in cargo and during the fight one of my MPs went down and I went to move him only for us to get cargo shuttle crushed. Feweh was the pred and felt bad enough about it to offer to revive us.

Or the time as CMP during the end of the round I got a call to head the CL's office and when I arrived an admin delayed the round and AREs proceeded to lock and vent the room killing CL and I. WY thought I was getting too close to something even though I had no clue what was going on and only showed up because of the call.

It took 7 rounds before I survived a round as CMP.

I believe it was the one up near alpha prep. Someone just out of cryo went SSD so I dragged them up to it, and the dropship landed right next to us in the prep IIRC.

Also as luck would have it this happened again just recently. Someone said you have to manually close the door before liftoff, but I could have sworn it closed automatically before.

Ouch to all of these. I played as a squad medic months ago, and it was at Ice Colony. We were at LZ2, and I was helping a marine, and some marine with tackle/grab/harm intent pushed me onto the pad just as DS2 landed. This was RIGHT after the first drop.

It was probably my second or third round when deadchat gave me my nickname. After getting murderized and then defibbed a few times at the LZ, I was successfully evacuated to the fine people aboard the Almayer. This is where things went wrong.

A doctor, new to their role I was later informed by ghosts, took me into their care. After about twenty more defibs I started to suspect something was wrong. I asked deadchat if this was normal. No. It was not. New to this whole revival process I went and got a snicky snack figuring it would take awhile. Returned to see I was still getting defibbed endlessly. About another dozen defibs later my doctor finally gives up and drags me to the lobby to display their failure. I have successfully been defibbed at least forty times only to die again. It's over.... until?

Space Jesus himself blesses me and I rise from my shabby grave. I scream to the sky and then go punch that doctor totally not on purpose before magically redeploying. I drag many marines to safety as an undying angel of mercy and recover bodies before I am finally double murderized and I return to the loving embrace of deadchat.

Also I OD'd on coffee pretty early as a CM player after losing count of how many I had. Shameful.

It'll close automatically if you let it launch automatically, but it usually doesn't close unless you tell it to if you're launching early

Zombie event on the ship, me and Val use the bodybag tactic to escape the almayer out the disposal shoot, but I got shot by a baldie alpha so I go into paincrit before I can close the bag. All my bones break instantly the second I leave the ship, killing me instantly

The other day I fired an AP rocket into the caves of Big Red. However the rocket somehow exploded directly on top of me, shattering my bones. The sprite continued to travel away though.

Quite awhile ago the back doors were melted off, so I thought I'd check it out and see what the ground looked like mid-flight.

I saw it very up close and personal. Because I fell out and survived, only to quickly bleed out while runners circled me like hawks.
