With a thundering explosion, and an ear-piercing screech, the massive creature came to an abrupt stop, its strength quickly fading as it toppled over in a mass of acid and broken chitin.
The marines cheered, a wave of euphoria traveling down the firing line, letting even the wounded forget their pain for the briefest of moments.
Onward came one of them, a burly man with a grenade launcher, his heavy armor splattered with some of the creature's acidic bile, a backlash from his killing blow.
He gave it little care, as he moved closer to inspect the monster, and give it a last, victorious kick.

And that's when he noticed the crumpled note in the creature's twitching grasp...

I noticed something in my time playing Xeno: the hive is almost always super supportive and kind to each other. It's a weird feeling having a doting queen watch over you like a concerned parent, while in actuality she's a fifteen foot tall murder machine.
