I didn´t, I was busy purging xenos with my SQUAD FULL OF 40K PEOPLE YELLING PRAISES FOR THE EMPEROR THE ENTIRE FUCKING TIME(I WAS ONE OF THEM)

It is up on the weekdays sometimes. It is in alpha testing, comes up every so often.

Its Crazy, Its Insane, and Its Chaos.

Once you learn how to basic its fucking fun as hell. You can attach anything onto ANY gun. Supressed Rocket Launchers with a scope and gyro are very possible. hell even xenos can become flying crushers catching shuttles that actually *fly*. Hell you can even shoot down from roofs and provide covering fire. Its still in Alpha testing right now but damn is it not promising.

They do have some nice features though, and it's pretty cool.

Only laggy with 70+ pop, if I remember correctly. When pop isn't too high though, gameplay is pretty smooth.

Yeah, it is still in alpha. Had a lot of good moments on that one, such as evacuating a merc from death after a flood happend and he was stranded on a roof with xenos.

By far the best feature is the free-moving shuttles that can fly anywhere on the map and land anywhere. Also the dropships have weapons and spotlights so you can fly with a squad and offer air support. Also you can paratrooper out of the shuttles for special forces action.

CM needs to steal their dropship code, it opens up so many tactical possibilities and would make the meta super different.

For such a new server, it's really really fun. Each side has actual objectives to aim for, and not just "Kill the other side til they ded"; xeno don't feel like you have to wait 9 years to be useful, and mercs don't feel frustrating to play, with such a small amount of actual stuns that the xeno can pull (you have pounce, screech that is not as OP as CM's version and that's it). The game has the balancing style that I always love, and that is "when everything's broken, nothing is". Also it has many many fun mechanics, that I wish some are implemented into CM (free landing DS, drop pods, no pushing each other, no ff, no limit on normal magazines in the vendors, interactive dropship transit that xeno can attack if they're flyers, freedom in CASing)

Both sides are fun, and the replay value is amazing because you can customize your loadout as a merc or your skill tree as a xeno as how you want it. Medical system seems fairly easy, and actually rewards teamwork by letting anyone have the ability to bring a dead person back with enough med supplies like Tricord injectors and bandage/oilment.

The weapons (every weapon there is viable, though some obviously better than other), while broken at first glance, all have their cons that don't have anything to do with unfun mechanic like click delay, wielding delay, recoil, one handed. The variety in armors is there, and every armor besides the normal marine one is fun to look at and very memey.

On the xeno side, their skill tree is actually amazing, and it shines the way for very fun, very different builds for each xeno rounds. You have normal drone build, you have baneling build (max on acid tree with or without quadrupedal for speed + acid explosion aka boiler's death gas and maybe a pounce to help you get right in the middle of everyone), flying DS ambushers, normal hunter build with pounce that can chains targets and very high attack damage, hybrids like a Drone that can actually kick some ass with points in Claw tree, a tanky drony Crusher, ....

Overall, it's a very fun server, and while the lag right now can definitely kill your interest in playing it, I can see a bright future for it once the lag issue is improved upon. While I don't see it holding a candle to CM in terms of muh arpee, its fun value is off the charts, and the fact that the rounds are so short (about 30-40 minutes each round), you don't feel frustrated like in CM where one side can delay the shit out of the other (I'm looking at you, xeno on Ice Colony). It's a hop in, have fun, hop out thing that I really appreciate.

Those are my thoughts on MercCorp, after the 4 tests I've managed to participate in.
