RP Group and Playthrough.

Post by Jaginun » 22 Jun 2015, 09:57

I've been running and GM'ing informal RP games for a few months now with a group on my Teamspeak, using mainly cobbled rules derived from Roll2Dodge and a few others.

I'm just about to start another RP, this one set in a post apocalyptic setting with new rules based on the Call of Cthulhu/Actung! Cthulhu/The Void altered by myself.

The Teamspeak IP is as follows;
94.23.10.32:9984

I'm opening invitation to it up to anyone reading this. It will be hosted weekly at 8PM BST on Friday's, running for hopefully 2-4 hours.
Just to give people an introduction, here's a setting summary I've written.
► Show Spoiler
It's mainly based on inspirations from John Wyndham novels as well as other inspirations (Fallout 4 soon guise!)

It's open to anyone that wants, and missing a session or two isn't a major obstacle. If anyone has any suggestions as well, I'm very much open to them, as I've only ran less than 10 or so RP's before. If you're interested, hop on the teamspeak and have a chat with me, feel free to ask any questions you have.

Just to stir up interest, here's an example of the character card;

There's a few other rules with the character cards that need explaining.

Again, feel free to add me on steam (same name), join the teamspeak for a chat or PM me on the forums for any information or questions.

Byond doesn't have a DM'ing (or two now) setting the scene and story for you though; If all goes well, it'll be a bit more than a set of quests sending you from one Dwarf-Fortress-esque-named village to another.

I'm sure one of the games... That does have DM'ing... I'm not so sure what name..

Oh, that's right, it's called SS13, Cow RP, and so on... Try researching into Byond and see what you can find.

I'm not sure if we're speaking on the same wavelength here. I'm not offering some kind of game with role-playing as a concept, I'm offering a Dungeons and Dragons style experience personally tailored to a specific group, the stuff people get together and play once a fortnight (for example). Hell, just from looking on the forum, I'm pretty sure there's a Dark Heresy game going on right now. It's the difference between an RPG and a tabletop Role Playing Game. It'll be running for hopefully several months, assuming we play once a week, rather than just restarting every round.

I've got absolutely no idea on your experience with games like this, but if you're interested you could sit in for a session on Friday, and play if you want or just observe. I've already got a good few players who've made characters, I was just hoping for a few additional as I know RPing is obviously a popular thing here, and if anyone is worried about not having enough experience, I handle all the confusing rolls 'off camera', so it isn't an issue.

Might try it later. Not too interesting in D&D kind for now. However, I might observe.

Hmm, whilst usually i would say sign me up, i've just had a look and realised i'm already part of 4 Pathfinder Play-by-post games. This does look interest, if its still running in a few months i may join up then.

If you're using standard time for the UK it'll just be 8PM, but BST is GMT +1, so 7PM?

The clocks should automatically update though on your computer, so if you're a subject of Her Majesty like me, then it should just be 8PM.
