MGS V

Post by FatalEYES » 16 Aug 2015, 20:53

So I'm actually pretty hyped up about MGS V coming out in about two weeks now. Actually started playing through the entire series again to tide me over until it gets here, just started on 3 today and I just can't help but love the nostalgia. Any other MGS fans out there ready for the release of next gen(Current gen) MGS? What are you hyped about the most of it? Any concerns or hopes for the game? General MGS discussion, just kick back and enjoy until we get our hands on it.

I love the fact that you can play missions as the people you capture.

On the other hand, not being able to run through the combat zone as D-Dog or D-horse, well.

0/10 wouldn't buy We'll see.
When the voice from the shadows calls you
When the wind whips past your ears
Will you stand when the weight is upon you
Or will you go to your knees in fear?

The fact that I'm able to see D-Horse swooped away by a balloon makes up for it.

Pumped to have a 260 man security force defending my assets when majority are Russian soldiers who i've brainwashed into joining me.

That and fighting Liquid in his own little metal gear.

i cant say im as stoked as you are, while i loved the series i stopped playing after snake eater, i couldn't justify buying a playstation 3 or 4 for ONE game at those prices when at the time almost everything i wanted to play was for the xbox (and now i've evolved above all you filthy console peasants, PC GAMER MASTER RACE!)

i was also deeply disturbed by the idea that the opening cutscenes were starting to last anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours before you actually got to play the game, and they took out the BOX.

how can they call it a metal gear solid game without the BOX?!

Actually, the box is still gonna be in MGS V. And you can sled down hills in it.

Update: I just beat The Pain in my Big Boss mode run of MGS 3. I forgot how brutal this game can be sometimes.

I would totally Fulton Recovery cats. I am glad MGSV stemmed from MGS: Peacewalker.

I performed a Fulton Recovery on a fucking bear. I took him down CQC as a challenge... I hate the "Blow up vehicles" kinds of missions. However, I just no longer seems to be itself anymore. Just my opinion. But, I love it!

It's a pretty big transition from the regular linear storyline way that people had gotten used to with MGS4 MGS3 and the rest (not counting Peace Walker or Portable Ops because they were made for portable devices and people thought that new system was just because it was a different console), Kojima had balls to take such a risk and change the way Metal Gear is played, But he pulled it off and now we have a really strong GOTY contender.

The story line is impecable, and the amount of customization you can do is just fucking unbelivable, Enemies behave realistically and sneaking past them feels really satisfying.

I was discovered at one point and thought "Hurr durr, AI will never find me in this tent." and they did something I've never seen nor expected. They shot into the tent. I'm not talking like, they came into the doorway and started firing, no. All of them surrounded the tent and just opened fire on it, even shooting through the cloth walls. This AI is astounding and it scares me.

I remember I had wiped out a outpost or thought I did...I was walking through the town and went to the main building and when I did the survivors were actually waiting in ambush for me. They literally were in defensive position and from a guy who is all about the military first I was impressed and then that ooooh fuck moment happened as they started to light me up.

I luckily dove behind cover and returned fire and threw some gernades, but yea it is scary how the soliders act like actual soliders.
