Math Fallacies

Post by Sascha8a » 13 Oct 2015, 09:22

So today I've visited a old friends of mine in his school. His class just had math lessons and they had something very interesting written on their blackboard. They just started a new chapter and their math teacher showed them this Formula.

Discuss below. Did you find the mistake?

On number 5 you can't just divide (a-b) I believe it turns into a quadratic in 4 therefor you solve it as such.
