Re: Refugee Thread
I mean to be fair it was in 2014, so things may have changed since then. Also just checked on the exact reason, they added on "firebombed escape as a rev", so that's at least kinda valid (the entire revolution was basically crippled and it was the only way to kill the heads, someone tried to open airlocks to escape but ended up sucking everyone into space as collateral damage).

Re: Refugee Thread
I played on Goonstation/Gibbed 3/4 in late '06 'til about early 2010. I still have nightmares about the old sprites and engine. This was the last SS13 map I've properly played on and sort've miss it.
People, like me, who'd played SS13 essentially a decade ago miss the little things like the plasma engine, HoP/Captain uniforms being green or the sprites not even having orientation (they always faced South regardless of movement/where you were facing).

Re: Refugee Thread
Hippie was pretty much where I started off, which in hindsight wasn't my best move... Not a bad place to learn to play though, considering the relatively lax rule enforcement. When a buddy of mine (good old Edgelord) showed me CM though, I switched right quick. Learned most of what I know here, excluding some basic medical and engineering know-how I came in with. Heh, making those FOB in Nostromo engineering really improved me fast, that much is for sure. I never did figure out how to make those damn generators work though...
As a quick aside, anybody remember Ishi 'Medibot' Isshin? I think that was it or something near it, at least. He helped bring me into advanced medical skills when I was but an ickle little squad medic way back when I first started trying my hand at medical. Great doc, gotta say. Was pretty awesome having someone teach me surgery, especially with the xenos knocking on the door during.
To sum it up CM is by far the most awesome thing I've seen on SS13, and you all are a lot more helpful a playerbase than any I saw on Hippie or Yogs.
