So for the turn I can only do one of these things: Move and capture terr, Attack someone else's terr, control a deposit, or build something.

That is correct.
You can build something but you have to control a deposit first.
Don't forget that you can make alliances so find out who complements your nation, knows how to strategize, or has a lot of resources.

I think it makes some enemy territory stop being theirs and MAYBE unable to be captured

Ok I would like to prioritize the territory points by capturing the following places I have red dots on. http://s10.postimg.org/kyprn1tw9/Untitled.png

After those are captured which should be 31 territories I would like to fill in all the holes on the island and the coastline south of that uranium deposit, also capture that capital....I don't know if that give me another bonus and proceed west along the coast to india. Oh yeah and grab that Iron deposit near territory 35.

No questions are stupid unless it goes along something like this when it is your turn: Can I move now? (Of course you can move; it's your turn!) or something as equally absurd as "What is the color of the sky?"

So, to answer your non-stupid question, once you control a deposit, it will not disappear from the map. Instead, your colored star will appear on it, indicating that you control that particular deposit. However, each deposit has a limited amount of uses, such as one iron deposit can be used to build walls for 4 terr.(of course, you can choose to build a wall for 1 terr. and save the other 3 irons for later) or a uranium deposit that produces only one nuke.

If now, Accepted
An alliance has been formed. MauroVega is now allied with MrJJJ. MrJJJ or MauroVega can now pass through each other's borders. This means if there is a free terr. adjacent to MrJJJ, MauroVega can go and claim it, and vice versa, unless they indicate that they do not want to pass through each other.
