Actually partial to the original Alien. The tension and atmosphere are masterfully put together. Also, I liked HR Giger's original conception of the alien, where it turned its victims into eggs. Disturbing.

They are making a diffrent movie called Aliens 2 which is supposed to better explain Colonial marines. Because fox fucking decided to make it offcial lore what happened in CM, not to mention Fury 191

If there is any objective standard by which cheesy movies can be measured, Aliens will forever be ahead of Prometheus.

If there is a subjective standard, one got a 73% on rotten tomatoes, the other a 98% on rotten tomatoes.

You can /enjoy/ both movies the same way you can /enjoy/ both a medium-rare steak and one that is well-done (in theory) but one is clearly better than the other.

Aliens because of its wide cast, the USCM (although I think a version with the UKCM would be better) and it wasn't trying to drag the series out unnecessarily.

However, the other three were actually okay in my opinion.

Nothing better on a stormy Saturday then popping my old VHS copy (YES SOME OF US STILL HAVE VHS) and watching Aliens. Or catching it on TV with few commercial breaks.

For the entire franchise, for me it goes Aliens > Alien > Predator = Predator 2 > Alien 3 > AvP > Predators > Prometheus > AvP: Requiem

Aliens. The only other canon movie is Alien. Everything else is generic shit. YES, INCLUDING WHOLE PREDATORS THING.

Alien 3 was alright. Not great, but after seven script rewrites and originally not even being made for an Alien movie...its still ok.

And Predator and Predator 2 was great. Predators and the AvP was only there because it has the creatures from the series.

lol Alien Resurrection is so bad I forgot to put it on the list. I guess its better than AvP: Requiem...but only slightly? I only remember giggling when I was 12 because they said Fuck in the movie so much.
