Be me, round starts, get CO, shed a single tear at how incompetent of a Commander I am, shed another tear as I realise XO is awake, except this one is a tear of joy. Shove all responsibilities I may possibly have onto XO and tell them I'm going planetside with marines, do briefing, briefing starts and MOTHER decides to pull a prank on us, saying there's a bomb in the Bridge, fake bomb goes off. I immediately state that the AI has gone Rogue, briefing becomes me telling marines to find the AI Core and fuck it up, I'm already geared up with armour and kitted out HPR, go to T-Comms, me and 5 marines, plus MT, MOTHER recognises the assault and fills T-Comms with flashbangs as deterrents, we aren't deterred. Breach maintenance door as MOTHER has locked us out, get inside shaft to blow remaining door then shut off MOTHER, MOTHER activates the sleeping gas, we aren't deterred, I grab C4 from a marine as everyone else bolts away from the scary AI, blow up remaining door in maintenance. MOTHER turns off all existing safety measures in the room and turns up the heat, I am still un-deterred, I rush over to the machine, attempt to shut it off, I'm retarded and don't, MOTHER's tampering of the environment throws me across the room like a shitty ragdoll, I die slowly as my body melts. Marines arive, MOTHER thinks it's over and lifts the blast doors to T-Comms, IT IS NEVER OVER, the marines breach the room and shoot up MOTHER, my corpse is moved magically to an easy to reach maintenance shaft where the marines can rescue me, they are idiots and don't find me, the head MT begins fucking MOTHER up real good, also he fucks up T-Comms, this is accidental.

Magic moves my corpse again, this time just outside of Cloning, thank god, I am cloned, get my shit together, find out MOTHER has been re-activated, load new clip into HPR, rush to T-Comms, Head MT and goon MT are fixing MOTHER and T-Comms, HERESY! Shoot them as they refuse to let me keep MOTHER turned off, turn MOTHER off again, sit in the room awaiting more Heretics to come and turn MOTHER on, MP's arrive, Marines arrive, XO arrives, the bitch has them wrapped around her finger tighter than those tasty cheeto rings I wear sometimes and then eat shortly after. I claim the woman is a Mutineer and shoot her to death, fellow mutineers fail to kill me as I shoot up MOTHER some more, eventually MP's tase me and drag my ass up to medical, I am healed of my wounds, then immediately perma-brigged, after about 20 minutes I am told I will be executed, Doctor suggests using medicine to kill me, quick and painless, I deny this shitty death, and request to be shot like a warrior, XO complies. My head is blown off in one shot. MOTHER is fixed, after another hour of bad MT's, T-Comms are fixed. I failed in my quest.

I love how the uninitiated thinks that MOTHER is the ULTIMATE word of God, when in reality MOTHER is actually an advisor and doesn't ACTUALLY enforce anything. BUT the exception is if a HIGH COMMAND order comes THROUGH MOTHER, then it's word of god and you need to start doing what they say.

Life's hard being a Researcher, I had a paranoid XO trying to accuse his Researcher of mutiny for half the game and kept bitching at him every time the pod or rasp came up, telling him to "Stop plotting your mutiny with the CL and get to cloning", wihtout actually providing any evidence of the mutiny...
