Zazin Kantra (Centered in Prayer)

Post by forwardslashN » 27 Apr 2016, 00:03

Byond ID:

Noize

Marine Name (so we know who you are, if you play alien mostly, state that here):

Dominic Russo. But I play xenomorph a good deal as well, typically when I late join.

Name of the character you want whitelisted (The name your predator will use. This must match your in-game predator name):

Zazin Kantra

Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor?

Yes, I have read and understood it.

Character background (A very BRIEF description of your predators background):
► Show Spoiler
Zazin Kantra is a typical Yautja in most regards, as he is xenophobic and bigoted to a point, convinced of the supremacy of the Yautja people. His defining characteristic, however, is his zealot-like reverence for the The Conquering Warrior and the tenants of the Hunt. In approaching the Hunt, Zazin Kantra believes that like The Conquering Warrior, a true kv'var-de has no weakness because he is prepared for the Hunt physically, mentally, and spiritually. The spiritual quality of the Hunt is just as important as strength or speed or intellect, and for this reason Zazin Kantra dedicates his kills to Paya on a hand-crafted altar whenever possible. Another important aspect of this reverence is the belief that a true kv'var-de must face a worthy adversary, a prey that is both strong and intelligent, and the kv'var-de must overcome them with infallible conviction. The glory of culling a thousand serpents with strength alone is a speck in the eyes of The Conquering Warrior, as Zazin Kantra would usually say, and a true kv'var-de must strive to draw Paya's gaze with a kill worthy of His name.
Zazin Kantra wrote:"Oh Lord of the Hunt, The Conquering Warrior, accept this offering of flesh and grant me stronger hands, a more cunning mind, and an undying spirit of the Hunt so that I may kill in Your name. Oh Lord of the Hunt, give on to me a prey worth of Your name so that I may share in Your glory."
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator. This will weigh HEAVILY and frequently breaking from this MAY result in removal)?

I want to play a detached, cunning observer who is more interested in finding worthy prey to hunt rather than straight up engaging in combat when the opportunity first presents itself. I want to be picky about my targets because I do not want to remove players from the game simply because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time, and at the same time I want to challenge players who actively wish to fight me. This does not apply to self defense, but only if the aggressor would be decent challenge to me. I also do not like running away from a good battle, and I would really like to commit to a hunt when it actually happens. The scene where the jungle predator removes the mask to face Dutch is my inspiration, along with the rooftop fight with the predalien. Once the mask comes off, it's personal.

I would never completely ally myself with the marines, unless directed by an elder or some other compelling RP reason, but I would not be against lending them a hand when I feel it may benefit the Hunt. I want to play up the uneasiness of having an alien being around, one who may have ulterior motives. I would also like, at some point, to set up an obstacle course of sorts. To see if prey can overcome my traps to be considered worthy game, or perhaps even a hunter apprentice. I do not see myself helping xenomorphs without a good reason, since the hive is often concerned with killing me, but I would not be against either staying out of their way or removing a few obstacles to bolster their strength. After all, their conflict with the soft meat would not be a great concern to me and may even enhance the Hunt.

Why should we whitelist you?

I believe keeping things fresh and interesting during a round is important, and I would play the role of a predator responsibly enough to make sure my presence is interesting to the other players without being unfair. Hopefully my presence will encourage RP in some sense, since that's often the most interesting part of the CM experience, and I am able to adapt and improvise well. I am also active in the community and I play both marine and xenomorph alike; I understand the balance of the game well enough to maintain it. And while I do have my moments of saltiness, I think I'm overall a fairly reasonable and trustworthy person. I hope you will consider whitelisting me.

Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?

No, thankfully.

Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?

Not to my knowledge.

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?

Yes, I understand.

Thank you! I am actually pretty satisfied with the character background. I wasn't entirely sure if we were still restricted to unblooded only, but this one came together pretty well.

Well, no notes, and I do recognize the name.

Also, not a bad application.

I'ma say +1

+1 You are a well respected player in my eyes and I've never had anything but positive interactions from you. This story is one of the better ones I've read and really shows you put a lot of time and effort into keeping your position. Your predator tends to follow the rules and so has earned you a lot of respect of the staff and players. All around, a good player and a good application.

That's actually pretty flattering, thank you.

All around a well structured application. I wish I had thought of the red section headings when I was making my application. ;)

For someone who plays Alien a great deal, I recognize your marine name quite well. You're also very active on the forums and I've had nothing but positive interactions with you. So a +1 from me as well.

I can't express how much I respect you, you're always clearly lining out facts when debating, and you're always supportive of good ideas. That aside, the application is well written, the headings stand out, and Zazin himself is a unique and realistic sounding. (as realistic as an alien big game hunter with an honour code and the technology to instantly kill a human with but a tap of their mandibles on the controls of their mask can be, at least.) I mean, has anyone actually created a religious zealot of a yautja before?

All in all, a +1. When you're accepted, and there's no doubt you will be, I'll definitely be looking for you on the Follow tab!

Thank you both. But, I shamelessly stole the red headings from Killy's app. Imitations is the sincerest form of flattery and so on.

the blood red symbolizing period triggered me

Jokes aside, was a fun read, nice story and well thought out. A great player too, supporting CM in many ways too. +1
