Gahn'tha-cte h'chak (Ruthless Mercy)
Byond ID: Skane10634
Marine Name (so we know who you are, if you play alien mostly, state that here): Karla Waldron
Name of the character you want whitelisted (The name your predator will use. This must match your in-game predator name): Gahn'tha-cte h'chak (Ruthless Mercy)
Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor? Yes, i check it once a day.
Character background (A very BRIEF description of your predators background):
Gahn'tha-cte h'chak was aware of the eyes watching him from the tree tops, mere wild-life, not his target but he noted their position nevertheless, one could never be too cautious. Soon he emerged from the jungle he was moving through into a clearing illuminated by two distinct moons in the sky, his target, his trophy. The creature, a misshapen animal seeming like a mix between a hippopotamus and a saber tooth tiger was feeding on one of the ape-like creatures in the trees. Gahn'tha climbed into a tree on the edge of the clearing observing the Hith'na as the creatures were called rip out the innards of the ape, seemingly satisifed, it begin to meander off in a northward direction, likely to its cave. Gahn'tha leaped through the tree tops and set up a trap where he believed the creature would surely walk, surely enough it came. The sonic mine went off, not stunning the creature as Gahn'tha thought it would, only enraging it "Dhi'ki-de (Die)" Gahn'tha said as he leaped from the tree tops unsheathing his claws preparing to sever the creatures head from its spine. The Hith'na scenting the Predator turned its chasm of a maw towards the Yaut'ja, Gahn'tha twisted his body to the side dragging his claws through the fat of the creatures next his blade getting stuck near its shoulder blade. "Cjit (shit)" Gahn'tha said as the Hith'na slammed Gahn'tha into a nearby tree, injuring his arm and dislodging it at the same time, the weight of the creature cracking his mask. Gahn'tha jumped onto the creatures back and into the tree, ripping off his mask and hanging it on his belt, he flared his mandibles and roared, leaping back onto the creature stabbing it over and over into the Hith'na's skull, purple blood flowing down the creatures neck and coating Gahn'thas blade only ceasing once the creature collapsed to the ground dead. Gahn'tha dragged the creature back to his ship, the light of the twin moons shining off his blades, the blood of the fallen prey beginning to dry on the blade..
Sitting in the cockpit of his vessel, Gahn'tha begin to fix his broken arm whilst contemplating his next destination, he grunted as he snapped his arm back into place and applied a bone gel to heal the bone ten times faster then the natural process. He stood up and took the head of the Hith'na into his trophy room, Human and other creatures skulls decorating the walls. He begin the ritual skinning of the beast, devouring the flesh, blood soaking his mandibles he raised the skull and mounted it on a wall. He returned to the cockpit of his ship, contemplating the hunt, 'These creatures do not satisfy me anymore.. i need something more, something visceral...' He set his course to an ancient temple world, known to the USCM as LV-624, Gahn'tha would get his wish, in more ways then one.
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator. This will weigh HEAVILY and frequently breaking from this MAY result in removal)? Will ruthlessly hunt Xenomorphs down as he sees oomans as far too weak and will only strike them down if they challenge him or attack him. The main reason for my character to hunt is to improve himself and to slay the greatest enemys he can, this would normally be xenomorphs, but if a human is clearly stronger then his weak kin he will challenge him.
Why should we whitelist you?
I enjoy role playing immensely and find that RP situations with predators are often the most fascinating and involved one can have, in this manner i would further the community enjoyment as a whole by enhancing the atmosphere as well as communicating with other predators, (And the humans if the instance where my character would bother arose).
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? Banned by gentlemanlyheadcrab|Duration: 180 minutes|Reason: EORG by Gentlemanly Headcrab (Moderator) on Mon, December 5th of 2016, That was a mistake on my part but it was under 3 hours so i didn't feel the need to make a appeal or anything.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
Nope.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?
Of course.

I am of two minds...
..One one hand I know you're a good roleplayer, and even better you're a good sport and will accept consequences as the come.
On the otherhand I feel you'll let the power this role provides to go to your head, rather I feel this is something that /can/ happen
All and all I want to say I am neutral leaning to +1

Re: Gahn'tha-cte h'chak (Ruthless Mercy)
There are three main problems here; Grammar, forum activity, and playstyle.
Otherwise, the application is written well, albeit the above grammar problem is present throughout the application, you have a lack of apostrophes and punctuation in several areas.
The application is written with some effort, but the playstyle is entirely focused on hunting down one side, and the problems mentioned above. I don't think you're suited for the role just yet. Take some time to learn, partake in the community, and refine a more unique and better balanced playstyle. -1.

Re: Gahn'tha-cte h'chak (Ruthless Mercy)
I'm with bolter on this one, the forum and activity, play style and backstory have my argument. You really just mention the gear used, and not any character development. No real base of the story contributes to how your predator will interact with aliens, marines and other predators. Most have qualities or traits that set them aside from each other, not just generic hunters.

Re: Gahn'tha-cte h'chak (Ruthless Mercy)
I'm actually gonna give this player a +1, he's demonstrated quality roleplay on the server, and I think any playstyle things we disagree with will probably be buffed out by the mechanics. Besides, /most/ preds (including myself) prefer to hunt humans. This could potentially be a good change of pace.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

Concerning the hunting of one side, most predators do that anyway... they don't hunt the xenomorphs unless they get attacked, so i don't see the issue here as well as my character having a applicable RP reason for why they're focusing on them.

Predators generally hunt neither side, or the Marines, early game. Later is when the Xenos are strong enough to hunt.Skane10634 wrote:Concerning the hunting of one side, most predators do that anyway... they don't hunt the xenomorphs unless they get attacked, so i don't see the issue here as well as my character having a applicable RP reason for why they're focusing on them.
A playstyle such as yours results in the 24/7 exterminating of one side.

Re: Gahn'tha-cte h'chak (Ruthless Mercy)
You're vague when you say you plan to "ruthlessly hunt Xenomorphs down." What is your criteria for choosing a xenomorph to hunt/kill? Tell us about the choices you will be making once you are on the planet and your reasoning using specific information/examples. Here are some questions to think about. Does the caste of the xenomorph factor in at all? What about the behavior of the other player? How often will you be fighting? We should be able to visualize your actions in a round.

Normally my character would see a t2 as something worthy of his attention, after a time of stalking said t2 he would engage, assuming victory, he would drag the corpse back to his lair as it were and do a ritualistic butchering of the xeno, will say more in a few hours, at work ATM but wanted to give you some idea of what I planned to do.

My only experience with you is quite negative.
You ahelped something that was deemed uncessary and was marked no reply. You then paraded around OOC, DSAY, MINICHAT and you PMed my staff about it.
Gave off a really immature childish vibe.

The issue was i disagreed that it was unnecessary, and i admit i over-reacted, however at the time it felt like you were just blowing it off, its not an issue now just explaining why i did so.Feweh wrote:My only experience with you is quite negative.

Expanding on the Predators playstyle, the whole hunt revolves around the targets worth, so while he wont just hunt marines because they are inherently weak, if he sees something that proves otherwise (Slaying a xenomorph of some sort) he would be a worthy target that can be hunted. And about the worrying of just hunting xenos all round, due to the long stalking time and ritualistic butchering of xenomorphs, there would be a long "cooldown" as it were, inbetween hunts.

+1 This, the fact they will fight Humans if they are more robust that the Xenos is something I can get behind.

The story was pretty good, but I'm not really sure who your character is at all based on what is written. Also, going by what Feweh posted, I'm not sure you're ready to play a predator. Granted, no one is immune from frustration, including some people on the whitelist already. Neutral, leaning -1.

Neutral for now, low forum activity considering the join date and I don't know much about your character.
Story was entertaining and well constructed, but your playstyle seems pretty common of the other apps. Is there anything you would do to distinguish your predator from the rest?

I play as this guy, proudly being dismembered by extraterrestrials since 2015.
Sometimes I might play other guys, you never know.

My predator would be distinguished from others because unlike the normal hunting of humans just because they are there, my predator would judge his targets based on their deeds, so at the start of the game he would stalk both xenos and humans until they do something noteworthy, and then proceed to either challenge them, or hunt them. In the case of humans killing a t3 xeno with ranged or a xeno with melee would be noteworthy enough, and xenos, would probably need to either grow into a t3, or kill a certain number of marines as a T2.

Although not an excuse, somewhat of an explanation, often times if i'm hypoglycemic, (I'm a diabetic) i'll be slightly irrational and irritable, or not so slight, whether or not that was the case at the time i have no idea, but you know, just an explanation.

Like stated above, good RPer, gotta watch the attitude tho. Pred players must have a relaxed and friendly behaviour specially when playing. I was a witness with the Ooc spam episode about the ahelp, didn't look good.
I'll stay neutral until I see you on the game.

I shall fully view this app on a later time, but from previous encounters as predator with your character in particular, I quite enjoy the RP. AS marine RPed only for a bit but mainly from observing you are good at it.
