Dhi'rauta Kujhade (Cunning Destroyer)
Byond ID: Tysonix
Marine Name (so we know who you are, if you play alien mostly, state that here): Jason 'Smoker' Prescott
Name of the character you want whitelisted (The name your predator will use. This must match your in-game predator name): Dhi'rauta Kujhade (Cunning Destroyer)
Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor? Yes, I understand it in writing and In practice with what I have seen when watching Predators as a ghost.
Character background (A very BRIEF description of your predators background):
Dhi'rauta was born into a clan that prided itself in honourable and bold hunts. As Dhi'rauta grew old enough to train with the other young lings, he found that the others were larger and stronger than he was, and that Dhi'rauta was the one that kept falling behind the others in many of the physical activities that they participated in. Dhi'rauta was mocked by all his peers, and only had the support of his teacher, for Dhi'rauta had the keen ability to analyse the situations he was placed in whenever he would fail or fall behind, he would always think of ways to improve himself and complete the tasks assigned to him effectively. He preferred observing his peers during their training, and watched their movements when sparring with one another. After a time, Dhi'rauta was set to spar with his peers to see the improvements of his combat ability. During a fight against the larger of the young ling class, Dhi'rauta had been avoiding his attacks, as he had already put to mind his fighting style and movements. Dhi'rauta whilst dodging his opponent, began striking at his joints to the dismay of his opponent and the watching crowd of his peers. Once Dhi'rauta had put a halt to the movements of his opponents legs, began an assault that lead to his victory. His peers jeered at him for having an unworthy victory for not fighting his opponent face-to-face. But his teacher only looked at him and nodded in approval, setting a precedence for the fights to come.
Alas, came the days where his peers would be splint into groups of 3 and begin their first hunt. Whilst tracking a small group of xenomorphs, 2 of the Young-lings made their presence known the moment the xenomorphs entered a clearing in the jungle and actively engaged them making the area their hunting ground. Dhi'rauta did not engage these xenomorphs and instead was observing the fight of his more aggressive peers, keeping sight of the strength of these xenomorphs, the speed they attacked them at, and had also kept watching the jungle surrounding the battle for any new combatants. Eventually, the xenomorphs pushed the Young-lings closer to the jungle tree-line, and Dhi'rauta noted that wounded Xenomorphs entered the jungle and returned unharmed believing there were more within it. Dhi'rauta moved through the tree tops and as the xenomorphs sprung their trap on the 2 young-lings, Dhi'rauta jumped down driving his knife into the head of one of them. Noticing this, the 2 Young lings were made aware of this trap and began fighting a withdrawal. Using his group as cover, Dhi'rauta took his kill into the jungle removing the skull of the xenomorph and retreating.
When all 3 returned to the edge of the jungle, where their hunt began, Dhi'rauta's peers were visibly tired and covered in small wounds. Dhi'rauta was the only one of the group that brought back the skull of their victim. Proud of this achievement, upon their return to their clan, Dhi'rauta was blooded using the captured head of his trophy.
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator. This will weigh HEAVILY and frequently breaking from this MAY result in removal)?
When playing my predator, I would watch the progress of the fights between the marines and aliens noting people that excel in combat, including Xenos such as hunters and ravagers who can hit people before they can react and constantly slash away whilst avoiding fire. Not wanting to get into a brawl with them all, I will watch and wait for these particularly decent Ayys or marines to somewhat be alone to find a match to fight. Otherwise I would see which side is dominating and cut off and isolate individuals who are powerful. My goal with my predator is not to die in some battle-fest where you are swarmed by one or both sides just killing or getting killed away. My ideal death and what I seek IF i die is fights where I get robusted.
Why should we whitelist you?
The reason why I should be whitelisted is because I have accumulated knowledge and understand many aspects by learning from my mistakes and that of others, and make my best attempt never to repeat it. Be that in command, or any other role. I have shown to be a mature person that is follows through with trying to keep people happy during rounds, be it via RPing with them often, building friendships in-game, and taking charge of desperate situations. From an out of character perspective, I try to be friendly with many people, trying to enter jokes, and asking how I did and if there are ways to improve.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?
Been playing CM a couple of years back rarely as I was staffing on another server then. To my knowledge of back then, and especially when I started playing very regularly at the end of last year, I have not been banned at all
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
No, not banned on any server.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?
Fully, it would make it fair for all involved.

Awesome, I thought I screwed up somewhere when making the application, as nobody replied. If I get it then, I'd do my best within the confines of the rules, and if not, there is always next time.

Eh.... Standing a bit neutral on the story. You clearly know your lore, and you have a lot of effort put into this, the story was "interesting" per se, but it helped me get a feel of how you'd be playing, and therefore, established your playstyle. The playstyle isn't bad, but it's a bit cliche, in a way that many people would use it in their applications and stories, but a cliche is merely an overused trope. Cliches aren't bad, but when there is a different way to go about it, that's when the set up is lazy; yours isn't. I haven't seen you RP but you are a decent player and decent person in general, I believe I can trust you with this role.

You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Re: Dhi'rauta Kujhade (Cunning Destroyer)
Aye, I really based the entire story around the play style I want to go with. I've seen many phenomenal predators when ghosting or playing, but at the same time have experienced little to no reason explosions, and other fairly poor moments. I don't want to do the latter, Influencing the round so that the marines are aware of me hunting, but not making their full front effort to kill me whilst finding viable prey or honourable fights, and for xenos to know of me, but continue on their xenocracy crusade with me picking off some powerful xenos that stray.Crab_Spider wrote:Eh.... Re: Dhi'rauta Kujhade (Cunning Destroyer)
For once I can't do a big rant about the backstory. It's short, it doesn't tell us jack shit, and tries to set up your Pred as smarter than everyone else. Constantly saying Young-ling was annoying as well.
Playstyle isn't a playstyle. Well, it is, but do you interact with anything else at all? You sit there and watch while presumably drinking coffee. That's not the point of the role, to sit and affect nothing.
When you finally find someone to hunt, you try to isolate them and kill them. This is the only part of the app that isn't terrible.
When you say that you learn from the mistakes of others in "Why should we whitelist you", you evidently didn't include the countless other denied apps.

Re: Dhi'rauta Kujhade (Cunning Destroyer)
Interactions come with finding honourable duels with those who wish to fight, mainly of those in the marines. I wouldn't just be sitting there doing nothing the whole time watching the round go by. And in your final words, I meant in that from the times I mess up and watching others mess up ingame, I try and not screw things up again.Boltersam wrote:For once I can't do a big rant about the backstory. Hmm, an okay backstory short and sweet not much to go on. Not having much to go on is kinda ehhh, I mean why is your character unique. It's the same old "My predator isn't as strong, he plays smart." Yadda, yada. You get my point, the application isn't flawed to the point where it's bad I'm just bored by it. I've read the same principle of your kind of predator time & time again. While it's not a problem it's a personal problem, where is something fresh? You could've owned up to that your predator is quite standard, and it would be fine but it's annoying at times when it's not. Anyway I like you Smoker, you're a good roleplayer but ehhh, I'm not sure. Going Neutral.

That's fair, that is something I am going to have to work on if I don't end up making it as it does seem bland.shyshadow wrote:Hmm, an okay backstory short and sweet not much to go on. Do you reckon that I'd be able to pass a predator application using a predator story based over complete brute force, because that'd be great! - Also I'm staying neutral on your thing mate, but wish you luck!Tysonix wrote:Can you rephrase that a little, I'm not entirely sure of what you are asking.

I don't know, the best answer I can give you is possibly, would entirely depend on how you make out your story and how known you are to the community.MrMafioso wrote:Do you reckon that I'd be able to pass a predator application using a predator story based over complete brute force, because that'd be great! - Also I'm staying neutral on your thing mate, but wish you luck!

I'm partially known around the community and well story making isn't my thing but I reckon it'll work I mean a lot of the Predators in the films are all brutal, especially in the 1st one and well Predators!Tysonix wrote:I don't know, the best answer I can give you is possibly, would entirely depend on how you make out your story and how known you are to the community.

Aye they are, but in the end, this is an online game, sure brutality and getting things done your own way its fair as long as you stick to the rules, but a predator is more of an interactive role with many others. Making or destroying peoples fun depending entirely on how you go about your round.MrMafioso wrote:I'm partially known around the community and well story making isn't my thing but I reckon it'll work I mean a lot of the Predators in the films are all brutal, especially in the 1st one and well Predators!

Re: Dhi'rauta Kujhade (Cunning Destroyer)
I don't mean that I'll just go around brutally murdering everyone for my daily dosage of i don't care about othersness, I go elsewhere for that. But I meant that I could potentially rather than just focusing on a singular individual to hunt down like literally everyone ever I can focus on taking a entire group at a time much like the Predators in the movies whether this be a squad of excelling marines or just some organised aliens. This will also work well with getting duels in with the last few surviving whiles still following the code of honour of well and code of not being a complete twat to others who want to play. For example people would fear me a lot more than what people tend to on Predators as they usually just sit and watch for a few hours before targeting like 1 or 2 people and then the round ends. Where I'd become for of a prominent thing to look out for in the round as I'd be seen as more of a threat on both sides as I am able to take out some of their better groups of fighters and meaning they'll likely keep an eye out on me. This won't lead to murderbone by me as I am relatively good at not doing that like ever, also because I'd hate to have my whitelist removed as I can't be bothered to re-do one. I just want opinions on this and this just happened to be the application that the idea really came to me.Tysonix wrote:Aye they are, but in the end, this is an online game, sure brutality and getting things done your own way its fair as long as you stick to the rules, but a predator is more of an interactive role with many others. Try and up your activity a bit; Your app is a bit close to the join date limitation to me and your amount of post doesn't enchant me.
Overall, the app was alright. It's snowflake and all, but that's realistic and fair for me. I'd only wish you had put more faults to your character's story.
I'll give you a +1 IF you raise your activity a lot more in the coming week and I remember to watch again (Say, 65 to 100~? Lot of posts you can make to reach that easely).

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.
