Bah'raath Application

Post by ThatInsan3Guy » 04 Jun 2017, 21:58

Marine Name (so we know who you are, if you play alien mostly, state that here): Brendan 'Maniac' Riley

Name of the character you want whitelisted (The name your predator will use. This must match your in-game predator name): Bah'raath

Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor? Yes

Character background (A very BRIEF description of your predators background): Bah'raath awakes to the roaring of other in-blooded as his clan prepares for another hunt. He is issued the standard equipment with all others and has trained years for his chance to partake in such a splendid event. He lands with the other 2 in-blooded selected for this ordeal on a planet known as "Chill Wind", an ice planet known for taking many yautja's lives. As the pyramid revives the dormant queen something goes horribly wrong. The pyramid long out of use had frozen and with it everything inside had too. After laying a dozen or so eggs, the now weakened chains of the queen snap and break loose as she moves and frees herself from her bonds. As the pyramid shifts separating Bah'raath from the other hunters he realizes something is amiss. He hears the roars of one hunter in another room and he peers across a small gap in the rocks to watch as the hunter is skewered on the queen's tail. Instead of viciously ripping apart the hunter the queen instead rips off the face mask and collects a facehugger from a nearby crevice to deposit it upon the face of the predator. Bah'raath realizes in horror the severity of the hunt. He continues on hoping to reconvene with the other hunter. As he comes across an open room a few hours later he discovers the remains of his tribe mate. Head ripped off, spinal cord and all, and skinned. He had become the hunted. Looking around the room he found the trail of the queen, and so he began his hunt of her. He came across her corpse pinned between a door that should have shut with one of the initial movements of the pyramid. Approaching her wearily he heard a roar from above. A weight dropped on top of him and a sharp pain occurred in his abdomen. The tail of the predalien, now almost fully matured had punctured clean through him leaving his glowing green blood to pour out of him. He felt the flesh of his neck rip as the predalien bit into him. Without thinking he grabbed a hold of the tail and with one of his arms deployed the bracer blades to cut through it. Now that the tail was severed he flopped to the floor and cracked his mask on a protruding rock. Jumping back onto his feet he was face to face with the predalien, and it was not happy. Spurting acidic blood from it's tail it flicked back and forth it danced back and forth in front of him. With the display of his visor flickering between modes Bah'raath became disoriented and ripped it off his face. In that moment the predalien attacked and bit his arm, attempting to slash him with it's claws. Now sporting a grotesque abdomen hole, a chunk missing from arm and neck and a claw mark across his face Bah'raath began his assault. Ripping off the armor that was merely slowing him down and deploying both bracer blades he lunged at the predalien. Moments later the fight was over. Bah'raath lies twisted upon the floor with broken arm and gasping for air and the predalien next to him, missing it's head. Barely clinging to life he stood and limped to the exit. Behind him was a massive roar as the alien queen awoke and ripped itself from the door it was stuck in. She hissed as she stood over him preparing to end what miserable existence Bah'raath had waiting for him after being broken in his hunt. Retrieving the spear attached to his leg holster Bah'raath stabbed the alien queen in the neck and catapulted himself up on top of her. As she roared her inner jaw was revealed and Bah'raath jumped down grabbing it with his one arm that was left functional. Screeching the alien queen spewed blood from her mouth all over the floor in front of her. She was disoriented and very angry, wanting to rip apart whatever just did that to her. It was a threat to the hive and killed her precious child, the only one she had hosted here. Suddenly all was dark, and then all was no more, as the shuriken cut what remained of the alien queen's mind in two, as well as her head. Broken, bloodied, but victorious emerged Bah'raath from the pyramid to the waiting members of his clan. He had won his hunt against all odds. Barely.

How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator. This will weigh HEAVILY and frequently breaking from this MAY result in removal)? To the death. Bah'raath is very much an aggressive predator. All that matters to him is killing his quarry. He won't go about dishonoring himself by cloaking, and he will make his presence known, he will fight with no mercy. If spared then he shall fight again. A fight is something you can not walk away from for him, and he will make sure that either he walks away the winner, or dies trying. After his fight in the pyramid he will always take on odds that are overwhelming even if it costs him his life, as if to satiate his pride of being such a valiant hunter. While I'm not gonna murderbone, or do anything like that, I'll chase the biggest game and defend myself from anything that intends to ruin the hunt. Duels are a must for me, but only with the strongest prey that is followed by the rest as a leader. Something must die in his hunt, whether it be himself, or his prey

Why should we whitelist you? I appreciate that mentality of "the hunt". After fighting Jay Burns (I think it was him at least) and finding that thrill of a duel I want to give others the opportunity for that. Next time hopefully it will be on more even grounds and won't have either one of us getting attacked by an outside source :P

Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? Nope

Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why? Nope

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor? Completely

I think your reason for wanting to be a predator is actually really good, and I support it wholeheartedly, but your story is really not up to par, and your playstyle is as cookiecutter as they come.

-1, but I hope if you apply in the future and put some more time into your story and playstyle that you get accepted.

Look at other ACCEPTED predator apps, then look at yours. What do you see?

Gotcha, I'll put a bit more effort into creating a story about him. I just thought due to the fact it says "a short" description about your predator it should be short lol

You've only got 1 hour to edit the application after posting it before you're no longer allowed to anyways, so I wouldn't take too long.

A lot of people's background story, no matter how good they are, aren't actually brief at all. Mine especially.

People are really looking for the character of your predator. Who is Bah'raath? What's his character traits? How does he respond to changes in his environment? How does he react to other people, and so on.

Alright, hopefully the story helps with it and gives you the gist of what I'm trying to go for. Thanks for the tips!

You're gonna want to format that a little, put spacing between paragraphs so it's easier on the eyes. You want people to want to read it, after all.

aah, looking at this reminds me of how I used to imagine predators... Strong and mighty, able to decide the fates of marines and xenos alike, their weapons, armor and tech some of the finest there ever is...

Then I got whitelisted and realized the reality.

Mate, I know you WANT to be a badass predator, but I just wanna inform you that the chances of "taking on odds that are overwhelming" and dying with dignity are slim.

Fighting the xenos? You'll probably piss them off and they'll swarm and tacklespam you to death. Marines? Uh oh, here comes some AP into your lungs, and if that doesn't kill you, say hello to their little friend: Flame thrower

The reality of predator is like a more antagonistic survivor, where you'll be lucky to get even one trophy before you die in a probably humiliating manner. Rarely do predators survive to the end, and if the marines don't kill them, the xenos no doubt will.

I'm going to -1 this, simply because of how Gary-stuish it is. Watch some predator rounds in action sometime, you'll change your tune the next time you attempt an app, and maybe make a predator that is more humble and real, instead of one that can accomplish insane feats of strength and courage in such a sort amount of time.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

An inspirational song for when ye be feeling blue:

As a man who's taken on a whole station before, strong and mighty may just be up my alley, but I'll take it from you :P And I've seen multiple rounds of preds just getting fucking rekt by everything at the marines disposal. As I can see this app isn't going to make the cut most likely, I'll adjust it to fit a more humbled predator after that experience, who knows his limits and doesn't want to ever experience that feeling of near death, cause let's be honest. Who enjoys a round where you're hobbling around and in soft crit collapsing every other second.
