Bakuub R'ka (Straight Spear Fire)
Byond ID: Mook476
Marine Name (so we know who you are, if you play alien mostly, state that here): Joakim 'Trapcard' Sundberg (Formerly Bryant Harding)
Name of the character you want whitelisted (The name your predator will use. This must match your in-game predator name): Bakuub R'ka (Straight Spear Fire)
Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor?: Yes I am familiar
Character background (A very BRIEF description of your predators background):
(Basic Description)
Bakuub R'ka was a young unblooded predator who had ideas different from the rest of his clan. He was always focused on mastering the combi-stick, the way of the spear, as the masters had done before him, he admired them greatly, and wished to join their ranks one day. As Bakuub grew older and more experienced, he realized that the art of the spear was his preference, he would constantly train with his combi-stick despite the rest of his clan practicing a different style of combat. Bakuub consistently improved his focus, and dedicated himself to mastering the art of the combi-stick. Bakuub was not only interested in mastering the way of the spear, but also in the way of trapping. Bakuub liked using traps, and his combi-stick to hunt worthy humans to practice his skill in close combat, and his intellect as humans are very crafty creatures.
(The Trial)
Bakuub would see newly blooded Yautja returning with their serpent trophies, it would inspire him, and invigorate him, he was ready for his rite of passage.
Bakuub was dropped off at a Yautja Pyramid with two other un-blooded as is custom.
Bakuub was prepared to hunt with his basic gear, a combi-stick at his side as he entered the pyramid. Taking a look around it's cold walls, he knew that this was the place he would join the ranks of the blooded. Walking down the hallways, searching and keeping his combi-stick at the ready for any Serpents, his fellow un-blooded split up to begin the hunt. Bakuub surveyed his immediate surroundings, finding a Serpent on the roof on all fours, it's tail poised to strike! Had he not checked he would have walked into his death. The serpent was larger than Bakuub had expected, looking at it directly, he brandished his combi-stick as the serpent lunged. Thrusting the staff into the Serpent's exoskeleton before it could reach him, acid blood spraying from its gaping wound, as the serpent lashed at him with its tail. Bakuub pulled the impaled Serpent closer, finishing it off with his wrist blade. Victorious, he severed its head, marking his face and mask with the acid. Without his visor on, and with the pride of a thousand ancestors he didn’t notice a second R’ka lunge out of the darkness slashing away off one of his mandibles, and giving him a scar. He fell to the ground due to the sheer power of the Serpent Bakuub then activated his wrist blades and thrust into the stomach of the Serpent with his right hand and into the head with his left constantly stabbing the Serpent until it finally stopped shrieking at him. He tossed it aside roaring into the air as he was now blooded, and he has now proven himself to the other Yautja and his ancestors before him.
(Personality Basing)
Bakuub stayed calm during the hunt, he watched as an Ooman passed. The Oomans back at their village thought that this Ooman was strong enough to walk out alone, and as such he deemed it strong prey. Bakuub stalked him for quite some time until the Ooman reached a heavily forested area, an isolated place. Bakuub jumped down from the tree which he was perched on, and approached the Ooman slowly walking around in the bushes and treading lightly, careful not to make a sound. Bakuub quickly moved out of the darkness and grabbed the Ooman by his ankles and yanked him to the forest floor; dropping the Ooman to the ground, where Bakuub retreated quickly back into the shrubbery and mimicked a laugh. The Ooman looked around terrified, grabbing his firearm and aimed into the bushes. Bakuub moved around rapidly making noises all around the Ooman to scare, and to disorient it.
The Ooman feared for his life and sprayed into the shrubbery, the Ooman backed up, quickly Bakuub placed a trap behind the Ooman hidden in the jungle vegetation. The Ooman stepped into the trap, and his legs got snared making him immobile. Bakuub smirked and quickly lunged forward out of the darkness with his combi-stick in hand, posed to strike as the Ooman panicked and sprayed into the darkness hitting Bakuub multiple times. Bakuub thrusted the spear into the gut of the Ooman and raised him into the air roaring victoriously.
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator. This will weigh HEAVILY and frequently breaking from this MAY result in removal)?
I intend to be a patient hunter, and more spear based and trap based compared to other Predator players. I will restrict the use of a plasma caster as a last resort, for larger groups as a deterrent and for prey that runs from my maws.
Why should we whitelist you?:
I can contribute to not only the role play environment, but to the game play aspect with my play style. I have been playing for a while and I believe I have the patience, and dedication to play out a role as a predator.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?: Nope
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?: Hippie Station. Perma banned for releasing nitrogen in an enclosed room as an accident I tried to shut it off, but someone opened the door, and released the nitrogen into the hallway. ~6 Months Ago
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor?: Yes I do

The story wasn't too bad, fairly enjoyable besides some easily correctable spelling/grammar mistakes.
I've seen the player enough to recognize them. No special experiences with them personally but they seem alright.
Personally, I enjoy the trapping aspect. I don't think there are enough trapping-oriented Predators, and I intend to soon make one myself.
Sure, why not. +1

I've had only possible RP experiences with both Joakim and Bryant. I trust in his ability to do well as a predator and spice up some rounds. I also enjoyed the Ooman storu, nice job.

Solid application and solid player. The only cheesey part about this app is the serpent cutting the mandibles of the yautja, it seems so strangely to the "Engineer Hunter" comic about an Elder Named Ahab and similarly got the mandible scar your pred has which makes this app a bit cliche to me. Alas I will stick to neutral even though you're a good player, sorry bro.

No need to apologize. I appreciate the feedback, and I haven't read that comic yet so apologies I don't know what you're referencing.SagaSword wrote:Solid application and solid player. I haven't seen you ingame, but you've got enough people vouching for you that I can trust you.
Bakuub isn't an exotic or even exciting predator, but you've given him a solid foundation that is plausible in-game.
I'd like to see some more feedback on this, but you've got my support. +1

Re: Bakuub R'ka (Straight Spear Fire)
You have a terrible naming sense. And I mean terrible. I think Bryant Harding might be the best name out of the three.
The story is difficult to comment on. Not because it's good, not because all of it is mind numbingly terrible, it's just, meh. It didn't hit me with any real impact, I'm not going to remember it without looking it back over every five seconds. In total, it just about makes two paragraphs in length, but you'd have to press me to actually remember anything about it. It's bland. It's uninteresting. There are also a good amount of grammar mistakes that break up the story, and just make it difficult to read. I'm not about to spend half an hour looking up and down a page to remember the story, so I'll do it for five minutes and give you a short analysis.
We get a little information around your character. He likes spears. Oh, and traps, as an afterthought. He also recognised that some humans have brains larger than a walnut, then hunted them. Let's skip to the Blooding, where you fuck up the it's and its a lot, miss a few full stops, and have your predator kill a xeno pretty easily, then get jumped by another that he also easily dispatches, getting a scar. Not one that would impair him at all, obviously, just a little cool facial scar for the ladies. Later on, he scares a random humie, traps him, gets shot, but obviously not injured, and kills the weak, immobile, trapped human.
It's not very good. Before I said it's not mind numbingly terrible, and it's not, but it's bad. When it's boiled down, your predator's got the depth of a puddle, and he's a mary sue on top of that. We know he likes spears, and traps, but that's about all the traits we get from him before we burst into him slaying Xenos with GLISTENING MUSCLES OF STRENGTH AND COURAGE, then again, skip to him trapping a random guy with a gun, getting shot a bit and somehow not getting injured, then slaying the helpless human with aforementioned muscles of glistening.
So oiled, not even bullets can penetrate them.
The playstyle is short, not very intricate. It's trapping and spearing people, which while uncommon, it'd work.
I don't see you ingame, so I'll take my usual stance and exclude that from getting judged. Forum activity is alright.
This app doesn't meet standards, -1.
It's not getting a raw label, because it's lettuce. It's bland. Tasteless. Usually covered in oil.

Re: Bakuub R'ka (Straight Spear Fire)
I appreciate the feed back, and I play quite often we just have different time zones I clock in at least two hours a day (before the current disaster). I also chose that name for a reason after multiple decisions I just decided to stick with it naming sense goes from person to person you might not like a name, but someone else will. I appreciate the criticism, and feed back.Boltersam wrote:You have a terrible naming sense. And I mean terrible. I think Bryant Harding might be the best name out of the three.

The story isn't bad and I've never had any bad RP with them, I believe they could play as a predator responsibly. You have my +1.
