He wasn't sure if he was dead. There was the awareness of blood, inside and out, and a vague sense that a body existed, somewhere, heavy, inert. The serpent's visage, mouth agape and lifeless, stared across an expanse of black mud at him, but soon began to dissolve into itself, dull variations of gray swimming in ineffable patterns, growing closer towards dark as would swirling reams of dye. And, slowly, even that shifted away, towards some point far in the distance.
Jolting himself pack to consciousness was a heavy act of will; his body screamed at every moment to be left to rest, but of course there were necessities to be taken care of. He moved his head slowly, fighting through lethargy, until his eyes came to rest upon his bracer. His other hand moved unbearably slowly, a slog through muck and failure, but he would make it. He would not dishonor the Shat'jah clan.
The heavy kick lanced agony through his side, jagged daggers of searing pain ripping through his ribs. His consciousness was at once plunged back into the world of sensation, though all he knew was the cracking, grinding pain.
"B'uruk Pa." Pathetic.
Pathetic. Not worth speaking of. Lower than dirt, than stone. An insult upon his very existence.
He laid in the mud and the grime for some time then, but the darkness was gone. His head swirled with sensations, passion. Pain. Fury. Steel. Burning indignation ignited these and, together, they roared inside his mind until their white-hot inferno had consumed everything- everything he had been joined in, as fire or as fuel. Overpowering rage drew him upon an elbow, and then his hands and knees. A broken rib ground agony into him. Yet he remained upright.
Raut'ja-de. He dared. He dared.
He was blooded now. The serpent's decapitated head laid beside him still. A death-match. Raut'ja-de would pay. He would pay with everything he had.
Merely gaining his feet caused him to black out once more. But, coming to, he found himself still on his feet, a snarl on his mandibles and the serpent's head gripped in one hand. It felt as if years had passed since that moment; so much had been burned out of him by that heat, and in its place, such certainty. He knew his blooded name now. He would kill Raut'ja-de with the name of his folly. With the moon at his back, the fire in his eyes, and mercy toward none, B'uruk Pa began his trek back to the ship.
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator)?
I intend to play B'uruk Pa as a prideful predator, who is enraged by insults and slights. Outside of this, however, he won't be unreasonably haughty or antagonistic- the idea is for RP to be standard until a thoughtless insult is put forth, whereupon aggression is ratcheted up. Of course, as do all predators, he values the Hunt above all; his other characteristics add to the basic yautja formula instead of supplanting it.
Why should we whitelist you?
I think I could add value and RP to rounds, and spice up the yautja pool. I also would personally welcome the challenge of RPing a very different character, with different motivations and flaws, than can be found elsewhere in the game. I also have no notes to my name (to my knowledge), and have played a number of characters with different personalities that necessitated more involved RP, like Solomon Ginsberg and Peretroit Noia.
