Hood's Predator Application
Byond ID: Hooderino
Marine Name (so we know who you are; if you play alien mostly, state that here): Mark River.
Name of the character you want whitelisted (The name your predator will use. This must match your in-game predator name): Bha'ka (Fearless Blade)
Are you familiar with the Predator Code Of Honor? Yes. I've roleplayed as a predator in different games, and I know how predators hunt and act. I did read over the Code of Honor and I will play by that.
Character background (An ADEQUATE description and story of your predators background): Bha'ka is a competitive and fearless predator, and feels the need to always be better than others. He was raised in a small clan, and has already claimed blooded status within his clan. Despite being extremely competitive, he still shows respect and honor to fellow Yautja. He's a fairly normal looking Yautja, standing at 7'2 and weighs in around 540 lbs. in armor. He has fairly long dreadlocks as many other Yautja do. Bha'ka has been on a decent amount of hunts, leaving him experienced in not only hunting itself, but as well as the Honor Code.
As a child, Bha'ka had some friends and his brother that he would play with, however, he was always the last choice whenever it came to games. This drove him to be very competitive and made him constantly try to better himself. He became blooded on his first hunt, and as he got older he was respected more by his clan. Bha'ka got his name (Fearless Blade) by always standing his ground when it comes to fighting, and will never stray from a honorable fight. Bha'ka lost his brother Thwuakon during a hunt accompanied by two other clan members. The other two clan members ran from the fight, leaving Bha'ka and Thwuakon alone to fight off a vast amount of aliens. Thwuakon was injured in the hunt, and later succumbed to his injuries. This taught Bha'ka to never stray from a fight and always help your fellow Yautja.
How do you intend to play your predator (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your predator)? I plan to play my predator competitively, due to his background. He will always be looking for honorable prey and will mainly do it alone unless he sees other reasons to hunt with others. In duels, he will mainly show his honorable foe mercy, believing it gives him more honor and recognition. He usually takes an item from his honorable foe, leaving them alive and worthy to possibly fight another day. He will also be fearless, and will die (self destruct) instead of run. He will also die for his fellow Yautja if they have gained his trust and respect. He will always leave innocent prey alone, and will help them if being attacked by an unworthy prey.
Why should we whitelist you? I believe you should whitelist me because as a predator, I can increase the roleplaying experience of others, as well as my self. I believe I can roleplay as a predator and do a outstanding job at it.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? I have not been banned in the last month, but I have been banned before for small offenses such as self antagonising. I have learned from my mistakes, and it was me that decided to do so. I will not do this anymore and I haven't since last time I was banned, and I don't plan on doing it again.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why? No, I'm not banned from any other servers.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or disobey the Predator Code of Honor? Yes, I am aware.

Re: Hood's Predator Application
Umm.....a lot actually. Knowing how the community operates, and being involved in said community is a good way to help out your "image". Being known gives the impression to other people that "Oh, hey, I know this guy, he isn't a rando who might abuse being a Predator, he knows how the game works." Does that make sense?
Usually playing as Darwin 'D.J.' Jefferson, PFC (Private: Flare Carrier), or Smartgunner almost always out of ammo. Occasionally an RO who yearns for death, dealing with rampant jackassery of his coworkers.

If I was abusing predator why would I be whitelisted in the first place? I don't care about my "image". I rather gain a good "image" by roleplaying and being a good predator than posting topics on a forum.Sora9567 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 16:51Umm.....a lot actually. Re: Hood's Predator Application
Ok, let me see if I can explain it better. Typically, Admins/Moderators/Dudes in charge would rather avoid the mess of a "New or unknown player" causing trouble as a Predator.
Here's a hypothetical scenario. Jimmy McWhateverGuy gets Predator Whilelisted. Ol' Jimmy decides to go nuts us a Pred: Shooting plasma at marines, killing important xenos, and is overall just ruining the round for both sides.
Now, Dudes in Charge would now have to deal with tons of AHelp requests, player reports, and would have to sift through the logs to see if Jimmy broke the rules as a Predator and should get his Whitelist removed.
The reason why forum activity is important is because they want to see if you're going to cause trouble as a Predator, you know? And forum activity is a good way to illustrate the pseudo-time-commitment that being a Predator requires.

Not the original poster, but what if someone is overall more active in all the other aspects of the community (Discord, github, in the game itself)? I don't really see the reason to make forum threads over the other options.Sora9567 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 17:17Ok, let me see if I can explain it better. I see where you're coming from now. This application is probably going to get denied regardless.Sora9567 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 17:17Ok, let me see if I can explain it better. Re: Hood's Predator Application
Hmm. Well, (and this is coming from a dude who started playing in May/June-ish, but only made a forum account in August so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt), but I would think if you're very active in all other aspects of CM and are known IC as someone who can RP pretty well, I think your chances would be alright as long as the application is well done. But don't quote me on that.EmanTheAlmighty wrote: ↑15 Sep 2018, 17:26Not the original poster, but what if someone is overall more active in all the other aspects of the community (Discord, github, in the game itself)? Re: Hood's Predator Application
Eh, if it does get denied, ask for constructive criticism and work towards improving the future application if you choose to do so. You made the account in May so you could be a well known player for all I know.

Re: Hood's Predator Application
The forums have a subsection for predator players that they are expected to be somewhat active on. Being a white listed role you need to be on the forums to check on rule changes, and to stay up to date with the state of the game. Having no forum posts gives me a bad impression of your future ability to stay up to date on these things. The predator whitelist is supposed to be the most difficult whitelist to obtain in the game.
I'm going to give you some criticism on your application so you can improve for next time, and hopefully others will too.
The application is poorly formatted, while this isn't something big it makes it easier for people to read, and gives off the impression of putting extra effort into the application.
Your familiarity of the Honor Code isn't displayed well, and by fleshing out that section with your interpretation of it I'm no longer going off of your word.
Your backstory is very brief. I'm not a great writer so I can't give many tips for this. I'd say flesh out that hunt where his brother died a bit more. You show off a lot of information rapidly and bluntly which makes it easier to forget.
For predator playstyle it's pretty generic compared to other applications, but isn't that bad. A bit of editing would make it easier to get your points across.
Your biggest issue is that you don't have much involvement in the community though. To be whitelisted as a predator involves great trust from the community because of the role they play in a round.

You've not really been more active on the forums/discord since you posted on this app, I can't say I've seen you ingame at all.

Become more active in th the community and take on some Command roles. I of all people know that time constraints can limit your activity but throw yourself into it for a few months and become more well known.

-1,
Application is a bit weak in itself and to echo the others, weak activity.
