Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop

An old, free, 3rd person shooter by Valve, with a major overhaul, and steam workshop support.

Anyone here played it or its predecessor? I've recently played it with a few friends and it feels like it has a taste of what Colonial marines is trying to capture. You and your squad of marines against a hive of aliens, (but minus the RP), and all the intensity, especially on the harder difficulties.

I've played some of it, but I haven't had anyone to play it with and the public servers aren't very fun. It's just everyone rushing ahead as fast as they can.

Ah man its ironic I found this! I saw it on youtube, decided to look into it and hoped it was a low price... and its free?! Its a great game only with friends though... but, ehm. Yeah

Much better, more content.... and its still free. Almost like an update, I see no reason to not try it

bunch of add-on campaigns were made official. More weapons, and in some maps, more kinds of aliens. The player limit can be upgraded from 4, to 8. There is also a PVP Deathmatch mode.

The previous game was a good short fun game. Reactive Drop is basically the remastered version, it's fun, it's short and intense. Recommend that you play if you haven't. Though I wish the Medi-gun was buffed ;_;

Meh, some of the guns suck, which.... sucks. Imo the default guns are best besides the leaders gun, that one sorta sucks.

Honestly if you want to have a good way to escape from hordes very easy or slow them down, use a flamethrower asap, one puff (click) can ignite 10 or more of those drones in a instant, slowing them down and slowly cooking them to death, its nearly the king of the weapons if i am going to be fair, especially with how much ammo you get for it...
Just make sure someone has actually a real gun or else you going to flamer a giant bug ALOT
