To put this bluntly the game is more of a spreadsheet then eve, consider yourself warned!

The game has been compared to playing DF in space.. I'll addon a plus to that.

Aurora is a 4X (eXpand, eXplore, eXploit, and eXterminate) science fiction strategy game. Players develop their interstellar empire from the humble beginnings on their homeworld to conquer the universe, or be pummeled into the ashes of history by opposing races. Some say it has the graphical charm of an income tax assistant software from the late nineties, but a playing depth that more than rivals any commercial 4X game. Aurora is different because it places emphasis on fleet operations and detailed tactical combat. (from the wiki)

The spreadsheet simulator that I barely know how to play, also, I was under the impression it wasn't multiplayer at all aside from sending saves back and forth

You have to show more than that, my dude. Where are the screencaps? I want to laugh at your ship designs.

Maybe I'll boot up some of my old saves, haven't played in at least 18 months. I think where I left off... Just discovered a ring of jump points that connected two different branches of the galaxy map that took hours to reshuffle until it made sense, then trying to get revenge against precursors and finding my AMM capacity woefully insufficient.

Maybe I'll try to get screencaps myself. I'd terraformed Mars and Luna IIRC, and had... eight extrasolar colonies? Only two to three at 100m plus pop, though. The combined geo/grav scanner that I'd made I remember being very proud of.

yeah, I don't really have any worthwhile screen caps to throw up, I'm still getting an understanding of the game so I can't really show much. Currently, i'm rolling extremely simple civilian craft since I've yet to leave sol due to learning new things and restarting to fix my errors, much like DF when I first started that game.

Just spam engine research and make a "speedy'boi" class explorer. You'll find them jumpgates in no time
