Any Elite: Dangerous/Horizons pilots here?

Anyone else play Elite: Dangerous/Horizons?

For those who don't know what it is; it's a MMO/flight sim in the Milky Way galaxy in which you are a pilot of a space craft. Each craft has it's strengths and weaknesses allowing you to do anything from bounty hunting to trading or exploring.

It's a very immersive game and if you go the trading route some have nicknamed it "Euro Truck simulator in space".

I myself am a Bounty hunter in a Viper working up towards the Vulture.

The game's a bit pricey for me, and I don't think my computer has the specs for it. Maybe the laptop I'm getting around Summer will.

Cool thing about it though, it's Oculus Rift compatible (Yayyyyyy), so the day I hit a gold mine, I buy Oculus Rift and Elite:Dangerous, and I go exploring the rim.

Any explorer ships capable of long-distance travel and combat-worthy? In space games I usually go fighter, but I think a more corvette-like ship would be better for solo exploring and fighting.

I have the all new cheese wedge (starting ship) with BB guns.. I'm literally a space hobo. I power my ship with friction from my socks.
