Good/bad news. Comp wasn't completed today, but now I have newfound motivation to KILL ALL FUKKEN XEEEEEENOOOOOOOOOOS!
A new let's play of X-COM will happen soon. Keep those names a' comin'!

We land in the desert, and after popping smoke, we're under fire! Dennis Hunt is our first KIA! The troops in the Skyranger disperse, sighting an alien near its downed craft. Knight, while trying to search for the xeno that fired into the craft, is shot! He spots the alien, and it is quickly dispatched by Bill Carson.
We are under relentless assault by the aliens! Ulysses Meat fires his grenade launcher and kills two sectoids near the UFO. Jack Knight has been killed. Shields and numerous others are wounded. Cutter manages to kill a sectoid with his flamethrower.
Jesus. That did NOT feel like six aliens.

Prioritizing researching Alien Alloys. We need to get some armor on our soldiers, even if it's just a blue vest and helmet.

We do the classic trick of going to the terror site and immediately pulling out. Somehow, Joshua and Carson are promoted to Captain.
Alloy Ammunition has been researched. We can now manufacture alien alloy based munitions for our ballistic weapons.
Very little UFO contacts. What we've gotten so far is mainly just little scouts.
We're out on our second crash site investigation, and we're dressed for success.
Let's hope it doesn't go as awry as last time.

The aliens are throwing new species at us! Autopsies later reveal that these are called Chtonites.
After spotting multiple contacts near the craft, I order the men to move up and take cover in the crush. Alas, our two attack dogs, Champ and Fido, were killed.
Kayto Shields is engaged by a Chtonite! One of its shots miss, but the other connects! Thankfully, Shields is able to shake it off and takes no damage.
We manage to clear out the UFO, but at what cost?
Promotions
Truly one of the best soldiers so far in this LP. Werry saved them earlier too with cover with his LMG, but alas, during the breach of the UFO they were gunned down.
Well, after selling some surplus alien kit, we can start a new base with this money.

I'd be interested to see how you''re progressing, OpenXcom is a pretty hard and unforgiving game compared to the modern, hardly comparable, 3D XCOM games.

Alright lads. I've built my computer over a month ago and haven't been very active on SS13 or this forum in general. Thankfully I uploaded my OpenXcom files to google drive and it's been sitting on my hard drive and I haven't touched it. I'm considering doing another run without Final Mod Pack as that mod makes everything a lot harder and it's a nice breath of fresh air playing the game lightly modded. So, I'll update my names roster and see what I can do.
