Hey, so you guys remember that space warfare game from 1998 Battle zone? You know, the thing thats the name of the subject? Well I started playing it and it's offspring game battlezone 2 ( released 1999) recently and I STILL love these games to death, especially the community project special missions made for the second. Anyways I recently started playing to get back into the swing because. On steam they are releasing a fully reduxed version of Battle Field 1998, In hd graphics and access to the mods made over the near twenty years this game has been in existance, One hell of a feat that even after so long, it still has a living community. OHHH MY GOD i'm so excited, anyways for those that don't know the plot of Battle field 1998
plot- Battlezone is set during the 1960s with an alternative history plot, in which the Space Race is used to cover up the deployment of the United States and Soviet militaries into space. Both sides have used scraps of extraterrestrial "bio-metal", which have fallen to Earth as meteors, to build vehicles with amazing properties such as hover capability. Both nations deploy into space and are fighting across the solar system to control other deposits of the bio-metal. Gameplay is divided up into two campaigns; one following the American National Space Defense Force (NSDF), the other with the Soviet Cosmos Colonist Army (CCA, also referred to as the Communist Cosmonaut Army in early game manuals)

Anyways, The great news is that ever since GameSpy was shut down, Games like the Battle Zone series and the early on Battle Field games have become free to download, so I suggest you get to Battle Zone 98 and get into it, because this is gonna be fun Who else is excited!?
