Drone #7 for Best Drone of 2016

The Megahive.

This mythic structure took up the entirity of the Eastern Barrens, bordering Tablefort to the West, the River to the South and the Caves to the East. It encompassed the workings of a single drone that aged to Ancient status creating it while serving her Queen's wishes, running back and forth to secure Hydro, the Nexus and Medical.

This monolithic nest comprised four separate nesting areas, twelve egg chambers, forty three individual rooms and corridors and so much sticky resin that it would've been impassible for even the best marines without a flamer.

Drone #7, the valiant hive sister, used her entire life to construct this hive before stepping up to the role of the Queen. Even after her death as an Elite Queen, the megahive served as a defensive bastion until the final Queen called for an allout charge of the remaining Xenos on the Nexus.

There has never been such a complex and massive hive before...and likely never again will there be.

Got caught up watching the rest of the round. Ask any xeno who was there though, they'll vouch for the sheer size of it.

I arrived late into the round when it was damaged. But it was still incredibly impressive.
