Getting pissed over Buckshot deaths.

I need some Runner tips. I typically can capture easily, and pounce, but I have trouble clicking and stuff, and was wondering if there were any tips to help.

Plus, Buckshot hurts like a bitch, already having died twice to insta shots.

Unless the marines are alone. Then you still have to be careful, a good burst from a rifle can put you near crit, and depending on attachments, even put you in crit.

Any tips for clicking? I have trouble especially after pouncing, since the sprite is covered by my runner

Hold control and left click them, or you can right-click the tile, mouse over them, and click pull. You can also cut off limbs if you wish, but it might lead to them bleeding out.

Unless you can immediately tackle a shotgun user after a pounce, don't bother. You can try for the ambush route by hiding under things but remember that some marines are extremely paranoid and will right-click everything just in case.

Use middle mouse button if you can, the way byond works on recognizing what input you're putting in is really weird, not sure about it entirely, but it's best to try and spread out what buttons you're using between all possible keys and inputs. Also learning how the tick system works is also extremely important on meleeing, it's best through experience, but a lot of your clicks wont go through that you think will, even if you're on an adjacent tile when you click on their sprite, just practice and you'll get a hang of it.

You think buckshot is bad? Try buckshot from an autoshotgun.

I was killed by one once... Long, long time ago. Didn't even realize it was an autoshotgun until it was too late. That was back when a certain player who I will not mention used to go to the brig and ask for one of their autoshotties.

Nowadays those autos are locked behind a secure lock, tucked nice and tight within the brig. Still have to deal with gyro shotguns, though...

By and large charging a buckshot user tends to end badly, unless its a surprise attack. Due to runner health you don't have much margin for error.

Tips for pouncing as a runner.

1. Your tackle as mature and young sucks, unless you sacrifice goats to the RNG god good luck.

2. As soon as you MMB to pounce them, move your mouse to right above your runner's back and click A LOT.

3. They don't stay down for very long (like half a second) when you pounce, you have to tackle to keep them down.

4. Once they are tackled, move to the tile next to them, slash a few times, tackle again until down. Repeat until dead OR just tackle them and spam tackle until you can devour them and take them back to be infected!

5. Use hotkeys, 2 is disarm (tackle) and 4 is harm on hotkeys so you can switch quickly. Also on hotkeys X is switch hands, if you grab them switch to your empty hand so you can continue the tackle spam.

Bait out a shot to see if the shotgun user is using slug or buckshot.

Pounce after they've shot once and while their shotgun is on cooldown. Tackle them and go to town.

Buckshot is the death of many a Xeno, but once you understand how to avoid it, buckshot Marines become a non-threat.
Once you learn a Marine has buckshot, you simply do not need to worry about them anymore as long as you keep a few tiles distance. Bait out a shot, pounce during the delay.

The only time you should be worried about buckshot is if it is gyro’d. You’re gonna want to be a lot more careful with those and you’re probably better off ignoring the guy for a spitter to deal with instead.

Lure them to shoot and tackle/pounce when they're pumping the shotgun. Be careful who you pick thou, some marines are experts in catching xeno scum like you.

Have never died directly to buckshot so far, i have gotten my ass shot and knocked down, yes, but never killed. Maybe i play spitter too damn often?
