The most dirtiest, filthiest, most effective trick any marine can pull is...wait for it!

Preventing friendly fire, waiting for a clean line of fire, or if not, actually moving and getting into a position that you will have a clear line of fire. Thus converting "FF", friendly fire into focus fire.

Easiest way to achieve this you ask? Simply fall into line shoulder to shoulder with your comrades and not move at all unless your tactically retreating(which theres many reasons for, medical attention being just one) or moving forward engaging in the same form.If you just cant get to the frontline to get a clear line of fire, this means you should be watching the side and/or rear flank of those front line marines that do have a clear LOF.The marines watching the rear and side flanks over being on the frontline, are more often than not more important than anyone else on the field.

Fucking simple.Try it one day.Or keep fragging each other, your call.
Max Dallas has been hit in the chest by the M40 HEDP grenade.

I will murder you Brittany Breeze

"It was a fantastic round. If the CO hadn't cryo'ed before the end I'd have bothered him to give at least two more medals. To PFC Max Dallas, who kept doing the path between the frontlines to FOB (the only place with medical aid) with a roller bed, and saved a lot of marines who'd have husked otherwise. And to Dr. Haley Altman, who after all medics were gone was fixing us time and again for hours straight. At the end there were over 10 patients around her either dead or in crit, and she just kept going."

Doesn't work in narrow spaces though. On top of that, the line is easily broken by boiler gas and easily dissolved by a Crusher or sticky resin.

In all honesty, this thread only has 2 pages because most "dirty marine" tricks don't exist anymore. The devs added blocks to remove those tricks and dumbed down the creativity cause it was too strong. And I won't lie, some of it was quite dirty. Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLHe_BUL5KA&t=138s (really amusing that 1 single person got a mechanic added that prevents scout specs being able to use shotguns and they're the sole reason for it lmao)

Still, with each mechanic nerf the creativity took a hit. And now we're left with.. barely even 2 pages of anything you can use to trick xenos. And some of these are just competence tips, they aren't even dirty.

Loading their shotgun with slugs and buckshot.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

One of my favorite strategies ‘was’ using body bags to set up ambushes with a shotgun, but sadly body bags are no longer portable.

As a SL get your whole squad to rest on one tile, then tell them all to get up and face the same direction without moving.

You could potentially have 20 marines standing on one tile, and the xenos won't know.
I give you 10/10. An amazing strategy that could not possibly backfire in hilarious ways for the marines in any way.

Marine tricks lets see.... I WILL OB YOUR HIVE YOU DIRTY XENO MAINS.

Jokes aside, spent flare packs can't really be used anymore to hide anything. But you can use flares to hide a claymore. You just need to be facing north and the Claymore will be planted right under your feet. Excellent spot to be hidden by a flare.

Best place to put that is some narrow passage, natural or made up, which is obviously going to be used by a xeno to sneak through to you, or just to melt the flare.

Once beno gets stunned unload on it. Rest in peace you semi-perfect organism. They never seee it coming. Chances are you'll be laughing your ass off.

When lazing CAS on boilers, laze behind them. It usually hits them dead on when the bomb gets dropped since they run back by instinct.

Or uh, use the motion detector to see how many benos are behind a wall, then plant an OB. You can use this to clear out lambda entrance as the unga wave rushes through or to obliterate virology without even sending marines inside. Also works to some extent in blasting a hole in the research corner next to engineering. I love OBs.

Laze two tiles behind a boiler. If they're "scoped in", They won't see it.
If they don't hear the sound that plays, It's GG for them. By the time the green dots appear, It's already too late.

Now that you can still burst even after you die, to make sure that a marine doesn't burst, either husk him or C4 him.

Since the tank is new, I'll give you some of the tactics they use with it now, sisters. Beware the fucking tank. Do not attempt to solo the tank. Do not attempt to engage the tank on the Almayer. Just kill everyone else and then deal with the tank at your leisure with swarm tactics and wall destruction. Furthermore, always check what kind of module the tank has if you see it. If it's got Overdrive, it's going to use the parking trick to permastun you for someone to come along and beat you to death with a pair of boots. It may also try to box you in to areas that are only accessibly easily by hallways three tiles wide. If it has Artillery, it's going to try sniping you, and you need to stay well away from it, or, barring that, charge in as a swarm and overwhelm it while it's reloading. (Beware getting parked on by the driver, though.) The TOW is a SADAR-level hit, beware its stun! The LTB *WILL KILL YOU* if you are not an ancient Defender or a mature+ T3.

Claymores. Shitload of claymores. Everywhere around you.

Wait.

Boom.

Finish it.

Alternative ending : see the xeno standing up, almost managing to flee, panicking and triggering a second claymore, ultimately dooming himself for sure.
