Xeno deaths

Playing xeno, what have been your main cause of death? I tend to be a drone, or ancient defender. Tried runner a few times. I also like Sentinel -> Spitter -> Boiler but only managed to get to boiler once.

Me:

approx 40% OBs
approx 20% running into group of marines alone (mainly with Runner)
approx 20% being too ballsy and not retreating fast enough
approx 10% tank
approx 10% engineer goodies (mines/sentries)


For me, I think I have been killed by OB the most (although I remember them better). I didn't realise but a well placed OB can nearly one shot an ancient defender, and make mince meat of boilers. One reason why, as SO, I always want marines to place OBs. It is - by far - the most efficient way to take out xenos. Most T3s in the centre of an OB will have a low life expectancy.

I don't play xeno very often but nine times out of ten it's either me getting grenades or getting cornered and cut off from any way out or being too ballsy

It's either because:
Of my own stupidity.
Body blocked in middle of chaos.
Martyrdom myself in very aggressive push as weaker caste with every sisters.
Getting hit by OB while I look away from my PC and headset off for a moment.

Or. Of course. Trying to RP with Predators.

Yeah, I recall some grenades. Although, I find an ancient defender can take a lot of nades before dying. Runners and spitters are kind of screwed with a well timed nade.

Shotgun + rifle fire are lethal, and a shotgun will often force me to retreat.

if you're a good shot, put a flamer on your shotgun and fill it with slug/buck/slug/buck/slug/buck.

slug them to stun, go up and shoot them point blank with buckshot and then miniflame them. it will almost certainly kill them.

Most of my deaths are either tank memes, bodyblocking dumbasses who refuse to have the hive HUD on, or glorious last stands.

When I play xenos, I main Spitter caste, because I find only Boiler fun to play and, most important, suitable for me. As sentinel/spitter I die only because of my own impatience if I go near frontline as young. As boiler, OBs, CAS and armor-less ungas. Never was killed by tank. Probably because I'm smart enough not to be in open area when tank is near.

I was 481 and this happened on Big Red. I decided to book it down the tunnel and died literally right at the edge of the OB's AoE, but the event was so comical I couldn't help but laugh afterwards.

Point blank buckshot usually gets me down quicker than anything else. That or a slug and a bunch of other marines firing rifles.
When the OB misfires and xenos are on your doorstep.

getting body blocked by other xenos, gibbed by tank, going incapacitated without help being recieved from my sisters, stun lasting way longer than it normally would, airstrikes, fire, never have i once been killed by a predator... wonder what its like lol

Roughly 50% mines, 30% 100-0 PB buckshot, 15% predators, 5% other means (Including multiple buckshot/slugs).

I mostly die from an unfortunate buckshot to the chest, overextending or getting cornered :c
