Burrowers are the bald Alpha squad members of the hive. Instead of shooting its friends though its just a meatshield at best. and not a very good one. at all.

welp they gave up on burrower. Its not even worth a t2 slot but atleast you can dig a couple of tunnels before you evolve to carrier. Carrier isnt worth a t3 slot either other than combat hugging. It has bad stats for a t3.

I disagree personally.

Burrower as a T2 means that drones can have a (relatively weak) combat caste that excels at sabotage. Having several of them assaulting a FOB flank could cause some MAJOR damage.

As for the carrier being T3... it just prevents spammage, and I think for all the buffs and it's importance, it's worth the T3 slot IMO.

After the new update (making the carrier a T3, burrower T2 and giving carrier back resin hole ability) I approve of this cast. the older arrangement was very bad.

What if borrowers had access to weak acid? That would help their role as a backline harasser in that they can melt supplies and defences, along with filling their holes

what if burrowers had their damage upped significantly and their attack rate lowered significantly. They literally dig tunnels across the entire map so they have to have good claws and powerful limbs to accomplish that. It means they would be bulkier so they wouldnt beable to attack as fast. This would make them beable to pop up and smack the crap out of someone with a better chance of breaking bones, but then they would probably want to run afterwards so they dont get killed. Makes for alot more of an infiltrator type xeno imo.

A Drone is an excellent saboteur. It matures fast, has plasma for days, and can melt all the crap. Not to mention a dash of friendly pheromones if some lurker nearby needs healing and sticky resin to sabotage all the chokepoints.

Sure, if you could get a few Burrowers together to assault FOB together, that might work, but from what I've seen, they're rather slow and squishy - not really built for combat.

the burrower being on the path to carrier is not too bad as long as the burrower uses its time between evolving to prepare egg-hauling tunnels and placing resin holes that it can fill later. demoting it to t2 was probably the wisest choice yet regarding the lackluster burrower. let us hope that this presages an upgrade to the carrier as a newly inducted t3

It's not new to T3, it has been taking up a T3 slot for at least a year if not longer.

I don't like the Burrower. Outside of a very niche ability, it provides very limited options for a player to work with. If it were given another ability, perhaps a more offensive minded one, then it might help to flush it out a bit.

An interesting idea would be to, perhaps, have it that if a Burrower has a certain ability on its Burrow ability causes the entry and exit point to become a tunnel for other xenos to use.
