I'm sure the devs already have a plan with this whole thing so suggesting things wont go anywhere BUT I am going to ramble off some ideas anyways.

Particularly, I think it would be neat if Xenos could upgrade/evolve specific parts of themselves, like:

Acid-tipped claws: Your claws now do burn damage as well.
Thickened Carapace: You are now explosive resistant.
Sharper Tail: You critical attack more often.

Or uh, better ideas than that, but you know, what if you could pick an "upgrade" everytime you mature? That might be neat and add some diversity.

Going the way of natural selection 2 and enabling the queen to "research" evolution upgrades for the xenos to use would be pretty cool.

I's adore that. Since none of the castes are equal, you'd still gain a benefit from upgrading all xenos rather than just one caste.

Xenos can't do that, they have hivemind. Time to get some drawbacks from it. It's not how "Xenomorph would behave" and nearly at the same level as "Reeee'ing". Bwoink, warn and ban if they don't learn that Queen rules there.

what about the main idea of a queen on startup lock ? can that be implemented in any kind ?

Honestly, this may seem selfish on my part, but I don't want clicking to be made easier. I want for clicking to be a high skill ceiling shit that if you're good at it, you're gonna wreck shit. I want to feel awesome when I nail a click while hugger combatting. I want to feel awesome soloing marines as a runner relying only on pounce/slash/kiting. I want to feel awesome watching a robust player do his shit to marines.

_ For the marines that want to go pure melee, xeno (aside from runners) don't have that bullshit of a speed and their sprites are decently bulky so xeno in general is easily clickable.
_ For the preds, they already automatically win most exchanges thanks to their speed and power. Humans are open to literally everything from the preds if they don't go for head KO, and xeno, well, look above.
_ For xeno, they have multiple ways to make their victim horizontal, by the ways of tackle/neuro/pounce/charge/lunge/tail sweep which already make clicking in most situations quite easy. The only time where clicking can be improved is with bigger xeno (can be solved by giving them smaller sprite), slower xeno (can be solved by reducing the click delay).

Examples of clicking that needs to be improved indirectly are Carrier/combat hugging in general (needs less click delay and smaller sprite), T3s or big T2s (smaller sprites), plasteel barricades (smaller sprites on those), and general RNG on stuns (neuro, tackle).

People get salty as all hell about it even now, and even in VANILLA, Stun-based combat is a very tiring thing to deal with that takes away the fun of fighting and just makes it a contest of "who'll shove the other person down first?".

Plus it would make hit and run a lot more effective if you didn't have to stun your target all the time. A lot of xenos would be very deadly if they didn't have to rely on stuns just to slash a target.

Marines already don't have to AIM DIRECTLY at a xeno, they simply shoot in the direction of a hostile and the bullet travels there. What is wrong with having xenos swing their claws at whatever is standing in front of them with more relative ease, rather than having to directly click on a target and hope that it registers due to how wonky click detection is on moving targets?

I just don't see any way to get rid of stun based combat when you have stuff like flame throwers, pb buckshot, b18 and rpgs running around. Xenos have to go in to melee, how you gonna melee someone with a shotgun if you cant stun him? Marines will have to be completely reworked too. None the less marines have more stuns and more powerful stuns than xenos do like the RPGs ridiculous stun on t3 and queen.

If anything without stuns we'll get a redicilous memefest of marines bodyblocking xenos, even more than they do already.

ya I didn't even think about that, marines would be completely fearless without xenos having stuns. They would just charge xenos and go melee with them not caring unless xenos did insane damage to compensate. I could see b18s taking machetes and melee fighting xenos if they didn't have stuns lol.

Yeah xenos would need like 10x of their current health without stuns or they'd need 100% decap chance and the game would be a meme then.
