I have met this enemy you speak of, no matter what it will always catch you off guard. Try to check under things, dead aliens, items on the ground, if you run onto one, or others xenos do, they'll always be more, just pay more attention when you're going in super sonic speed.

Re: Best way to avoid claymores? tips and trick?
It's all becouse of your speed and becouse claymores are small. Just don't run full speed at all time when you are on the Marines teritory. You wouldn't be able to spot Sentry when acting like a Sanic. Hide under tables and bodies, use "stalk mode" instead of "hunt mode" more.
Resin holes are easier to hide than claymores, becouse any item covers floor title and claymore has some "code priority" so it's hard to cover it. Marines can infact throw shit and with a bit of RNG luck you can hide it, but xenos can lay traps where it will be covered and they do. Try to spot resin hole under crashed vendor. Pile of food items will lag you when you will try to right click on it.

just right click when you see empty flare packs or obvious junk around the FOB

just take note of when you die. Marines almost always do the same thing with claymores. They put them in doorways, around the fobs, and when you see 1 theres probably more. You can tell which way they are facing by which side of the tile they are on. Like if they are on the bottom half of the tile they are facing up. Go at them from an angle (besides the front side) and slash them and they blow up. Always right click anything you see on the ground like flare packs, boards, anything like that cause htey hide them under it. Run around slower the first time through to check for claymores then go crazy.

They are typically placed near marine defences, so the first time you approach them just stop at a distance and take a few moments to take in the scenery. Look around with nightvision on/off. Any tile that has items on it is suspect. It's typically like 4 tiles from cades because they dont want to damage the cades. There's also the invisible ones in the river, you just have to use your perfect organism senses to avoid those.

Claymores aren't that difficult to find in my opinion (except in LV river), it's just that if you aren't actively looking for them you won't be able to reflexively find them. Resin holes can be hid under basically anything but claymores can really only be hid under empty flare boxes, so if you keep reminding yourself to look out for them you'll be able to spot all but the most ingenious placements.
Once I have spotted a claymore though, a fun trick I love to do is to lure a marine in front of it and then slash it from behind. It's so entertaining to watch a marine eat shit from five pieces of shrapnel, especially if they were the engi that planted the claymore.

Getting marines to blow themselves up or shoot each other is one of the greatest enjoyments in the game for me. Wish we had more hillarious ways for people to mess themselves up. I think my favorite is stunning a person about to throw a grenade and he blows up 8 people near the cades.Kineem wrote: ↑03 Dec 2018, 08:14Claymores aren't that difficult to find in my opinion (except in LV river), it's just that if you aren't actively looking for them you won't be able to reflexively find them. you know, at this point, the flare packs and junk trick is actually making the mines easier to spot because everyone knows about it. a mine laying alone in an uncluttered area is harder to notice imo, because im so used to them being in cluttered ass spots

I love seeing Lurkers pounce a guy and stand on them even while a shotgunner starts running up to get that juicy PB, and then walks off them the split second before the shotgunner gets to an adjacent tile so the shotgunner clicks the marine underneath the Lurker and just fucking MURDERS their teammate.kastion wrote: ↑03 Dec 2018, 21:59Getting marines to blow themselves up or shoot each other is one of the greatest enjoyments in the game for me. Warrior flinging is gonna be really hilarious when the new map Trident Dam is put into rotation because you could just lunge a dude then fling him into the toxic water. If you do that the guy just dies before he can stand up and none of his mates are gonna be able to save him if he's more than one tile in the water.

theres a few tricks left that i got 5 solo mine kills with on prison, some xenos are oblivious to anything that's not a empty flare pack

Re: Best way to avoid claymores? tips and trick?
Typically, if you start getting near to the FoB, there will be at least some claymores scattered about.
If you see a doorway or space with only two tiles to get through it, check for Claymores, because those are a prime planting position. Remember, Marines aren't usually going to throw them in the middle of nowhere. They'll be at the entrances and exits of buildings, and very rarely in the hallways. Large open rooms aren't going to have Claymores scattered willy nilly under normal circumstances.
If you see a trash pile, look for a Claymore. Marines are about as organized as a pile of multi-colored rocks. The only reason they have to EVER CLEAN UP IS IF THEY'RE HIDING LANDMINES.
Claymores will basically never be under Xeno corpses. This is because Ungas will normally blow themselves up trying to be clever, so you have to worry about this a lot less than you'd think.

Hiya. I'm the player for Axel "Jackal" Freund, Battlefield Scavenger and War Hero extraordinaire. I also play Alexander, the sycophantic mimic Synthetic.

Oh I know yours was a joke, but I wonder if you can get away with mine since moderators will just say IC and you have 20 minutes to burn before larva pop if you missed round start xeno. Could be a fun time waster and you get to piss off marines at the same time.

I'd say it probably qualifies as "being a dick", not really different from suiciding as a larva.

to be honest, unless a moderator actually takes the time to investigate something like that. You can probably get away with it 9/10 times.

I guess, you can't. Once I triggered a mine with a corpse (at that time, I didn't know, you could do that). I got beaten till crit by the whole FOB-squad for wasting their minesCry of Wolves wrote: ↑07 Dec 2018, 02:39to be honest, unless a moderator actually takes the time to investigate something like that. Yeah uhh. Do that and you can expect a bwoink and with a high possibility a ban. Falls under being a dick and metagaming.
