The Final Experiment (Chapter 3)

Post by mizolo » 16 Nov 2017, 13:29

Thanks for listening through the stories, I MIGHT get another chapter in today, but given the time and the work I have to do, that might not be possible. Anyway, here is your next chapter. I DID make this kind of hurriedly, so try not to judge as much.

Chapter 3: The Equilibrium Conversation

She was suddenly shocked. Had she just communicated with him through telepathy?

She got up slowly and crawled up to him and tried something she had never thought of to try before.

"Can you hear me?" She thought to him.

He responded "Y-Y-Yess ... h-how did you do that?" She seemed puzzled, and then told him.

"I ... have never done this before, particularly with you white-coats, I just, I don't know, didn't want you to leave." She thought to him. He looked VERY confused, and she wondered if she was getting really weird. These white-coats never made any sense.

"Why would ... Why would you not want me to leave?" He asked. As if implying that she wanted him to leave. She instinctively responded without thinking, excited that she could talk to something, regardless of species.

"Because you are the only one that has been nice to me, besides that young one you sent in." She thought to him, along with recalling memories of pain and suffering accidentally. He suddenly screamed out in pain as memories suddenly flashed through her head. She immediately regretted thinking those memories.

Had she just transferred her memories of all things to him? She was so confused, but instantly tried to steer from those thoughts, and went to thoughts of him entering her cell, her being treated with kindness. He stood up, visibly shaking in shock. He suddenly put his hand up to stop a white-coat from pushing the gas button that would make her sleep.

He paused for a minute, then said. "H-h-how did you transfer your memories into me?" He said with a breaking voice.

"I ... I don't know, I just thought them after you asked why I wouldn't leave and me saying you were the only one nice to me." She thought back. He then sat down with his hands cupping his face, as sign of ... something she once knew, but couldn't remember.

He then went up to her "I ... I don't know what to say. If I was in your shoes ... I ... I don't know." he said. She then thought of something.

"I wonder" She thought to herself "Can he transfer memories to me?". If he could, then this could change a lot of what I know about humans and white-coats.

"I know this sounds weird, but, try thinking to me" She thought to him. He looked at her, but seemed willing to try.

He then tried it, it wasn't working. They both seemed to be confused as to why it wouldn't work both ways. She then had another idea.

"Hmmm, try thinking the ... what do you call them? Words I think you call them, by themselves, see if that works." She thought to him. He shrugged and sat down. He looked very tired and ... hopelessly sad.

He just sighed "I wish I had learned this sooner. I wish I had done something to, I don't know, change it?" He thought. "I wish for everything, and get nothing."

She looked at him, but his mouth did not move as he spoke. "I heard that" She said. He looked at her in shock. "I wish the same" She said in addition. They sat there for a very long time.

He then broke the silence "Maybe it's emotion that breaks the barrier between telepathy?" He thought to her. She considered it for a moment. She decided that it might be true. "You know" He said "I wish I could share with you memories" He thought to her. He then unknowingly shared his memories.

Him and his children, his ... what was it called? Wife, that's it. She also saw how happy he was, how they played strange games. They also did some not so great things. She saw blood, murder from other of his kind. Something called news showing the xenomorphs on the screen and then displaying dead bodies ... bloody bodies ... as that of her kind would inflict on them.

She felt horrified, like some sort of monster, no wonder they kept her in here and tortured her. She then un-willingly shared her emotions and re-shared his memory compacted with that memory.

He immediately looked at her, knowing that he had just shared memories with her, and her to him. They sat there in silence for a long time. They contemplated one another's views, the happiness, the death, the joy, the sadness.

He stood up and sighed. "Well, I do think I have to go, I have to go and tell what I found, and ..." He said "I'm ... I'm sorry". He then walked through the door, and closed it behind him.

It might be a very long time before the next chapter comes out. I am currently taking LOTS of Finals in school right now, so bear with me.

As for the story, i'm ... not 100% sure how to execute my vision of how the story ends.

I now have an idea of how to execute the ending, you may however, feel very ... distraught and ... affected by what comes in the next couple of chapters.
