(TFE Series) The Battle of Shysizek (Chapter 1)

Post by mizolo » 29 Jan 2018, 14:19

It has been 3 months since Volkov and the queen got off the planet full of the infected.
The war with the CLF and UPP 1 month ago has stagnated and faltered to a stalemate.

That is ... until the CLF and UPP combined ... creating a warship, no-one had ever dreamed.
A new, Leviathan-class ship that was designed to be the Yamato and a half of the war in space. Completely under the radar of the USCM and W-Y intelligence, until now

The W-Y Corporation has re-teamed with Borgia Industries, but is still in the very early process of re-gaining one another's trust.
However, temporary cloaking, and although very weak, shields have made it onto the Blackwood.

The queen is given the code-name "Sollution", a nickname with many meaning ranging from being a solution, to being a pollution of the Sol people (Earthlings).

Chapter 1: Intelligence, and a Surprise Attack

Volkov sat at the captain's chair.

He rolled his eyes and made a fist in his hand and rested the left side of his face on it, bored.

Ta was skeptical about the cloaking and shields, of course, but he authorized it. He believed in science, and in theory of a bunch of things. He enjoyed fantasizing about black holes, as they were always ... unknown, always a mystery.

Omni was at the helm, "Piloting" the thing, though all piloting really consists of when out of combat is just punching in numbers and co-ordinates and the computer did the rest.

Sleepy was at the weapons console, sleeping as per usual.

Volkov recieved a message, "URGENT: GET OUT!" it read.

He rolled his eyes and opened up the message. It was not a deep FTL communications transmission as he had thought. It was instead, a medium-space translation.

He pondered for a minute, then said "Alright guys, wakey wakey, something's up". He said as sleepy, being sleepy, woke up with a start, but quickly settled down.

He rolled his eyes, amused, and read the message.

"GET OUT OF THE SECTOR! NOW!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!" Volkov read.

He sat back in his chair, then got a tingly feeling. "Something is coming ... something big, much, much bigger than we've seen" He heard as sollution hive-minded to him.

He then did an over-ride and activated the 60 second cloak, just in time as a warship larger than an aircraft carrier and a dreadnought combined in length and width warped in and appeared in front of him.

He practically jumped out of his seat and yelled, "ACTION STATIONS! CONDITION ONE!" as the red alarms started blaring the klaxon alarm.

Sleepy immediately asked for orders and Omni took control manually of the piloting controls as shots barreled towards Blackwood on the blip screen.

Sleepy raised the shields, but Omni dodged the shots with his piloting skills.

"Ta! Get to a fighter/bomber, and tr-" He was interrupted with a bleeping hailing marker, letting him know he was being hailed.

Sleepy said, "Torpedoes ready and reactors at full with engines at 96% power."

He nodded, and opened the channel to speak. He was greeted by a strange man.

He was not very tall, but he seemed very ... middle to old aged, as if he were an old commander or admiral. "Well, I meet the infamous Blackout at last ..." he said in a professional, matter-of-factually tone. " ... well, it seems you are at my mercy, so I will give you a choice ..."

"Oh really? ..." Blackout retorted "... and what makes you think that I even think for half a second that I'm at your mercy?"

The admiral grinned and stood up. He was very short, almost like a dwarf or a midget. "Perhaps that's why he won a lot of the time and people don't take him seriously when he hails." Blackout thought.

"Well, you see, I happen to have the best ship ever built, along with it being out-fitted with the best technology at our disposal ..." The admiral said. Blackout snickered, "So you have pea-shooters for guns and shit for engines?"

Omni and Sleepy both suppressed a laugh, but ended up sounding like some sort of giggly girl squad.

The admiral responded "... no, that would be your cloaking, as well as better shields than even you have". Blackout froze, "How the fuck does he even know about that?" he thought. "Your kind are very double-sided and traitorous, particularly the white-coats." sollution spoke into his mind, perhaps a little bitterly.

"Ok, fair point ..." Blackout said, and the admiral looked pleased "... but, I do have a question, how the hell are you going to hide that big of a ship with just a cloak?" Blackout asked.

The admiral just smiled "Fire on me, and you'll see, if you dare."

Omni turned around and put his thumbs up, signalling they had a jump co-ordinate to the main fleet. "Well, I'm sorry to say, but I'll meet you at the main fleet." Blackout said, and motioned for Omni to hit it.

The admiral grinned mischievously, and it disturbed Blackout, as well as Ta who had just came into the room. "I'll look forward to beating the USCM into submission, until then, later Blackout." and Blackwood warped towards the fleet.

Everyone stared at Blackout. "Jesus christ, how fucking big was that thing?" Omni said out loud. "Bigger than any dreadnought, or even super-carrier that I've seen" Ta and Sleepy said at the same time.

"Jynx" Sleepy said, and Ta rolled her eyes, clicking her mandibles in a sigh.

"We need to inform the fleet" Blackout said, as he patched through to the fleet commander using the spec-ops codes the first-admiral had given him. "Connection failed, ship is currently out of the sector" the computer said hauntingly.

Everyone stopped and looked at the computer screen. "... repeat computer" Blackout said.

"Connection failed, ship is currently out of the sector" The computer said hollowly again.

The entire fleet had left ... leaving the Blackwood for dead, or worse.

I hope you enjoyed this next little segment of the series, the next title after this one will be the last one, as it's a trilogy.
