So I finally had a moment to myself. Some time to write a page or two for you here, in the engineering lounge. There's no one here right now. Just me. So there's no one to pry into what I'm working on.

Do you remember, when you came up here onto the upper deck of engineering to arrest me, for breaking into the brig again? I didn't think that when I saw your face then that I'd be changed as suddenly as I was. You wanted me to get on the ground, but I wouldn't. You knew I had broken into the brig, but I'm not one to give in. I stood there and lied to your face then, but when I took you by the hand and dragged you downstairs with me, when I said I was going to keep you, when I asked for one kiss from you, well. I had only been joking. I was messing with you but the more I teased you the more I was only teasing myself and before I knew it, I had made myself fall head over heels for you.

Since I've met you, I've incurred several charges under my name and spent hours in the brig, but they've all been worth it for a chance to see you.

Do you remember? Maybe you don't, since you weren't awake at the time, but I pulled a metal chair up right outside of the brig, between the doors, my back against the wall and sat down. In my hand, I had a paper that said: "Hello. I am waiting to see Tess. The engineering department is lonely. - Mya Miller." Whenever someone came up to me and asked what I was doing, I held the paper up. When I was alone with no one else round, I glanced back through the glass in the doors that separated me from you. If I broke every marine law there was, do you think that glass would shatter and those doors would spring open?

Just so that I could say,

"I like you?"

Do you think then,
that if we went back home,
you could spare some time
to be with me?

Nothing has to happen right away. I only wanted to let you know how I feel about you. I know you already know what my feelings are, but I want to make them clear. Did I ever tell you that my favorite memory of the USS Almayer was when you put me in the brig for the first time?

Do you remember? You watched over me then. Didn't leave me alone. Stood by my side even though you didn't have to and when you did leave to tend to your duties, you came right back.

I am going to be in cryo for awhile, but when I return, because I know I will, I would like to hear what you have to say.

Minutes of silence passed. A chair scraped against the floor and a pair of boots traversed the room. A hatch opened and after a few seconds, closed. Left alone on top of the table in the engineering lounge, was a single piece of paper.

The unsmiling, humourless face of Warrant Officer William Crimson flanked by the gleaming white beret of Commander Jack Knight.
They silently made their way to the MP standing next to the piece of paper, their face shrouded in the shadow of their beret from the flickering lights., the MP did not speak, she simply extended his gloved hand to one certain paragraph

Forget about high command,
forget about the command staff,
forget about the Provost,
forget about the Chief of the Military Police,
forget about the Marine Law,

The Warrant Officer and The Commander glanced at each other, and with a scowl they simply hissed with lowered voices and a venom which dripped off every letter

"Mutiny."

They pivoted on their heels and left the room, the remaining MP placing the envelope and letter inside an evidence bag.

COMMAND ANNOUNCEMENT

Mya Miller is charged with the following crimes.

Sedation
Sexual Assault
Resisting Arrest

They will be executed by firing squad at 13:45.

That is all.

When I think of the best prison break of all time, I think Pierce Jackson. I don't think I'll ever forget that great escape haha. The crazy part is that you actually pulled it off and even days after, I'm still mighty impressed. I mean, who saves someone from perma brig and then proceeds to incapacitate the whole of the Almayer's military police force? Mya's surely happy to have him on her side, otherwise who else would break her out from the brig?

Maybe Jackson, if Mya payed him.
