I could say the same for Command staff who play only for the authority and who don't know exactly what they are doing either, which fucks up good SL's.

And yeah, if SL's were good almost all the time, there wouldn't be much need for Command.

PS:I main SL, not BO,XO or CO

Command can see all Squad chats if they enable it on their radios.

This.

Good command enables all squad comms round start by grabbing their headset and enabling it.

Its tough to navigate when everyones screaming, but you at least know whats going on.

I was talking about general comms on the ground, people on the sulaco can't hear that.

Than I pity your inability to play with people capable of using communication devices and will judge your decisions based around the fact that whenever you play a round it has nothing but baldies in it because lord knows only a baldie would use local comms for that.

To be honest, retreating when FOB is still up never happens to me, but I hate it when they completely disregard the Marine's words, considering they are the ones on the planet that actually know what's going on.

Watched a FOB with five turrets, several layers of metal barricades + r-tables + racks get demolished while half of the marines planetside decided to retreat on RASP.

A least a quarter of those were wounded, but we had medics planetside to splint and shit.

Ended up fighting to my death, cursing command for sending down Rasp without reinforcements and allowing pussy marines to leave the last ones fighting to their deaths alone on the planet, then sending reinforcements when we were all dead, which ended up killing all those reinforcements.

Christ, sometimes I hate both Command and marines.

hes a good fighter, but not a great leader, from my xp of him as SL he was soo late to deploy, not giving orders and doing nothing but getting hugged after deployement, and there was a mutiny 2 times out of 3 that I saw him as CO one of them caused a DS ert and wiped out all marines, I feel like he tries to bait mutiny from that day onward

It's one thing to be insulted, it's another thing to take that insult and twist it into something that resembles me hating your personal life. Jeez.

What cool gear? A headset filled with Command staff yelling to either retreat when you don't need to or hold when you can't? Armor that is still second to Spec despite you technically being more important? The same weapons as everyone else aside from flamers that you can't even really use properly since half your bag is filled with beacons? Beacons that you throw down in the false hope that either RO will pull it's thumbs out of it's ass and do it's job delivering supplies efficiently, or BO not even being at the console when you REALLY need that OB to blow the T3 horde to pieces? -_-

The ONLY benefit to being SL is the sense of fulfillment you get when you lead a marine victory... and that rarely happens like you want it to.

Half the time your squad either fucks off somewhere despite your orders (which should be followed To. The. Letter. if you admit that Command has no idea what "strategy" means), or one of the dumb-little fuckers shoots you in the head with Slug or AP because they have fucking elbows for eyes and hands. If you're lucky you get killed quickly by xenos, as usually Command will tell you to hold FOB despite the only other living SL agreeing that you can't, or they will send down a MP hitsquad when the SL's finally have enough of being ordered to their deaths and rightfully ignore command.

As for retreat, if you can't hold FOB don't even bother. While I hate early retreats as much as the next guy, I hate impossible defending more, because MAYBE 5% of everyone in FOB will actually be able to Evac in time, and you will also be leaving everyone under your command to the slaughter-house of xenos and retarded orders.

You know what really grinds my gears as RO?

PFCs asking for barrel chargers when they KNOW they can't have them

Marines asking for attachments when everyone's running around loading crates. A simple "I need help when you get the chance" would be great

SLs and BOs not responding when I ask them what they need
-SL:"BO we need supplies!"
-BO:"RO, squad needs supplies!"
-RO:"Okay, what do they need?"
-no answer
-RO:"Okay, what do they need?"
-still no answer
-RO goes on squad comms:"Squad, what do you need?"
-silence
-RO goes on squad comms:"Squad, I need an answer"
-later the BO, squad, and SL yells at the RO for not filling the crate

Marines who don't save their mags to refill, and always need new ones. Seriously that shit is expensive

Doctors who yell at me for taking a basic medkit for drops

Those marines who beg for W-Y weapon crates or blackmarket weapon crates. You're not getting it.

When you fill up the order but the SL doesn't place a beacon down

When the supply crate and beacon are both ready but the BO doesn't send it
