They do help a good bit, I think somebody put a guide for them in the guides section, or you can just ahelp when you're in CM and ask somebody how to setup macros.

If ur fighting against DS,hide in a locker, when a DS passes by,pointblank him.

If ur fighting against xenos, get a pred mask and you will be

For humans use AP bullets, these come in a multitude of lucrative varieties. AP mags, slugs, throwing knives, marksman speed loaders, or sniper bullets. Aim for the hands and fire away. Why?

If you break the hands, they can't fire a two handed weapon, and without that ability, they're worthless as buckshot against a sniper.

For xenos; distance is your best ally but that ally is your tsundere. If you're in CQC range, pack slugs, why? Slugs still have that stun buckshot has, the only tradeoff is damage. You need distance to keep yourself alive, never worry about killing something quickly. Only worry about staying alive and uninsured, and the best way to stay to do that is stave off your aggressors. Xenos can still attack while on the ground, I've killed many people while floored, and i don't plan on stopping. Remember this too.

Runners = strong and fast = Low health
Sentinels = medium range, slow, medium strength, medium health
Drones = High health (EXCEPT CARRIERS!), support, medium strength, variable speed. = most dangerous in close quarters.

Drone castes are support, they may be lacking in what they can do, but remember, these bitches know what to do, and when they use those pheromones, they're deadly. This isn't to say the Praetorian ma might just fuck you over as well with this same premise.

Always take out the weakest ones first or keep them out of the fight long enough to handle the strongest, larva are an exception (it's a real dick move to kill larvae)
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

I dunno about using macros. I've never used macros and I consider myself robust ENOUGH to where I can kill a few xenos every round.

Just don't get the impression that you NEED macros. Use WASD, X to switch hands and you're good

Reminder that slugs do roughly the same damage as a single pulse rifle round against xenos, you'll be using a lot of slugs to put down anything mature and beyond with those. Shotguns were designed to be used with buckshot, they're a high risk high reward gun, using slugs makes it a medium risk low reward gun.

Slugs actually do double the damage if I remember correctly. You can take a runner into crit with two and kill with four, while a pulse rifle takes four and seven

But do use buckshot if you aren't using the autoshotty

I use macros for my shotgun because it is very cumbersome to fire and move your cursor all the way to the unique action button and by then you'd already be dead.

Pulse rifle actually takes 3 to crit if its a young, but you are correct if its mature and above...not like you shouldn't be meeting youngs at that point unless they are super stupid.

Lead your targets. Watch your line of fire. Don't die.

The main thing for being robust is to not be a dumbass. If you see more hostiles than you, and you only have one rifle to back it up, don't be a dumbass and charge them. Regroup with your mates and attack from an unsuspecting angle, forcing them back. Listen to your SLs as more often then not they will guide you to areas where you can be robust, instead of going rambo and getting hugger decap'd.

Ding Ding Ding!

Being robust is far more about being able to intelligently analyse any given situation almost instantly and acting in a smart way that keeps you (and if applicable others) alive, its also about having a good sense of situational awareness.

im just saying that using a touchpad is not very efficient. i used a touchpad before in ss13 and i had such a hard time that i used a mouse specifically for ss13. use a touchpad. dew it
