I believe the only logical response would be to press "F", so as to pay respects.

F, as it were. Rest in peace.

Can't believe I'm getting sentimental about a 2D ship

Yeah, that's exactly how I felt as it happened.
"Memories can be vile. Repulsive little brutes, like children I suppose. But can we live without them? Memories are what our reason is based upon. If we can't face them, we deny reason itself! Although, why not? We aren't contractually tied down to rationality. There is no sanity clause. So when you find yourself locked down in an unpleasant train of thought, heading for the places in your past where the screaming is unbearable, remember: There's always madness. You can just step outside and close the door, and all those dreadful things that happened, you can lock them away. Madness... is an emergency exit."

I first joined CM on, around April 29th I believe. So I nearly had a full year with the Sulaco. RIP Sulaco.

I joined in May or so. So 11 months isn't that bad. I'll miss all the salt and rage good times had on there. From the summertime cargo riots to the ladder defenses to the one time where Xur got splatted.

Been staring at this ship for 8 months now. Can't believe I care this much.
So long, Sully.

One day in the future there should be a event/mission where the USMC finds the Sulaco and sends the Almayer to board it, using the Almayers umbilical cords to connect to the Sulaco.

We'll miss the old girl that's for sure, but at least she went out with a bang rather than a whimper, and took plenty of poor bastards with her!

I never actually got to pay my respects for the good old girl.

Rest in piece(s), USS Sulaco. You were the best, shining example of the Conestoga-class troop transport. We can only pray that the Almayer will continue your legacy.

Been here since before the Sulaco was well that (I forgot the first ships name, might've been Sulaco) and its sad to see it go but many good times await us on the Almayer, plus we're not ganna be restricted to LZ as much which is nice!

How many iterations of the Sulaco has CM gone through? I remember when I first started playing the game. The Sulaco was sent to investigate a Space Station instead of a planet. Raul Garrison was also just a Desk loving Logistics Officer.
LCpl. Raul Garrison: That nobody with a gun
Dr. Arthur Bennet: The guy you plead to fix you
Lt. Elizabeth Owens: The lady who won't stop badgering.

There were 2 sulacos. And it wasn't decomissioned, it was "lost".

Has there ever been chatter about using the Sulaco as a map? The Almayer finding it, for example. A "broken down/decaying Sulaco" could be super nostalgic and fun for the Marines to RP exploring.
