Whose idea was it to make a HoS?!
Well then?! Who?! Why?!
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Someone, ages ago.

I made a suggestion a long time ago, August 2015 more accurately.

I mean...someone has to make sure the MPs aren't fucking around, and command is usually busy.

Solves disputes between MPS, is a public figurehead, organize MPs and directly orders them instead of one random Bridge staff ordering something, (hopefully) improve MP behavior and weed out problems with them.

most MPs excute CO's orders while they need to enforce marine law, HoS gives them a boss to prevent that, I guess

So it stops Bill Carson from enforcing bullshit orders through MPs and preventing loopholes?Simo94 wrote:most MPs excute CO's orders while they need to enforce marine law, HoS gives them a boss to prevent that, I guess

No, it stops sane people from wasting time debating the exact meaning of the marine laws.Crab_Spider wrote:So it stops Bill Carson from enforcing bullshit orders through MPs and preventing loopholes?
Carson being himself is only preventable by mutiny, but unfortunately you have to wait for him to do something worthyof mutiny before you can.

Re: Whose idea was it to make a HoS?!
Why is the WO a bad idea? It gives more structure to the department, resolves issues more easily, and overall is a stronger representative of marine law than mp's were previously, meaning less dumb infractions from MP and command staff.
I really dont know how this could be a negative change.

I think we can agree WO is the dumbest most dumb name for it.

Warrant officer? If you're referring to the acronym, it should be pretty obvious when it means whiskey outpost or warrant officer based on the context.

Re: Whose idea was it to make a HoS?!
The reason everyone hates WO is because they get instatriggered and can't stop squealing because all they see at that specific moment is the 18th hour of Whiskey Outpost in a row.

Warrant Officer in this case, but a Warrant Officer isn't a Lieutenant, it's an entire rank on its own.driecg36 wrote:Warrant officer? If you're referring to the acronym, it should be pretty obvious when it means whiskey outpost or warrant officer based on the context.

Re: Whose idea was it to make a HoS?!
His rank in the game appears as lieutenant.
Where does an actual warrant officer sit in the hierarchy?
Never mind, i looked it up. For the marines, they appear to stand somewhere in between officers and enlisted marines. So technically, they would be above SL and below SO. I'd rather them act as lieutenants, actually, to make the balance of power between command and the mp's more balanced, so I don't mind their rank being lt in the game.

Also, to add to that. lieutenant commander isn't a rank in the marines, just in the navy. It would make more sense if the SO's were second lieutenants and the XO was a first lieutenant.

Re: Whose idea was it to make a HoS?!
Typically above Staff Sergeant. I think it has the ability to be given to numerous ranks from Army Sergeant Major to specific Chiefs of Staff as it's not a Commissioned Officer post nor is it Non-Commissioned. It's issued by Warrant. Which leaves it in a sort of unique place. LT is a suitable place.

The bridge staff aren't marines, they're navy. Same with pilots.driecg36 wrote:Also, to add to that. lieutenant commander isn't a rank in the marines, just in the navy. It would make more sense if the SO's were second lieutenants and the XO was a first lieutenant.

Re: Whose idea was it to make a HoS?!
Well Carson you almost got busted for our premature victory party. So I doubt the WO will be that much of a shield against MP retribution.
I think the HOS has more potential to do good rather than take away from MPs. At worst you'll get a overbearing WO but that would occasionally happen with normal MPs or Command staff.

Bran Jast. Over worked Bridge officer, uncaring MP, injured Marine. Shrug. Now without Robot Arm!
