I'm putting this up because iv heard that throwing knives are bad I
just want a bit more knowledge on the subject because I just got a kill with them on a alien...

they are pretty shit. i mean they are a cool concept but i think they even do less damage than a revolver. and if you actually waste your entire belt slot for a knife reg, WEW lad you are already doomed. the only acceptable belt items are ammo rig, SMG holster, or machete (or toolbelt/lifebag). its the same as people who wear pistol holsters on their armor to "look cool". maybe if we could carry them in our teeth like the olden days they would be slightly relevant

Throwing knives can put a predator to their knees in three seconds. Same with IB's or marines, in other words, they're the perfect tool to disable a human/humanoid without risking too much (when the target isn't using a gun) .. They pierce armor so it will inflict dmg even to a crusher, just don't expect to success with those knives, they're at much, a last resort weapon.

Throwing knifes are good. Trust me, just toss them around the place, no matter what you see, just throw one at them. Remember to carry two knife belts, one in your belt, the other in your hand, one in your boots, two in your armor, one in your helmet and a backpack full of em and a machete with mag harness (seriously, make that a thing) and you'll be good to go.

Believe me, I am pretty good at throwing shit around, including primed grenades and knives. They neither have a good DPS, neither have enough "two throws" total output damage. Basiclly you won't deal enough damage to crit any alien with less than 4-5 hits (Not even talking about high tiers, those are most likely 8 shots to crit).

Funny thing is the following, you won't be able to dance with aliens while you aim and throw, regardless how fast you are. Then, you won't have enough knives to throw (Assuming you hit EACH throws).

And finally, you ever FF, they'll hate you.

Actually you can throw one knife every 1.5 seconds if you're good at at close range. Even 1 every second. Though it includes being at CQC with your opponent which means you're most likely gonna be butchered.

No, I am a huge macro user, and even with those, knives aren't good. They're... Fun, though.

Useless. I threw the same throwing knife at a young runner twice in the span of 3 seconds, it ran away for like 2 or 3 before it came back and ate 2 more rifle bullets and still didn't even go to crit

Oh being bad has nothing to do with knives being bad.
But as I said, I myself played with knives a lot, using some macro to machinegun-speed-throw, and still didn't kill many. It works, but a rifle would just suit better. It used to be good when crushers had low HP and high deflect.
