Most effective weapon against zombies?

What is the most effective weapon against zombies? Personally, I would go with the flamer.

Either a quickfire rifle or a shotgun, the shotgun knocks them back and the quickfire rifle well...fires really fast if you can click really fast as well, flamer is only good enough to set them on fire so they take extra damage, not for killing them.

Smartgun is VERY weak against them, for real. I shot 30 bullets and the zombie kept walking. I'll stay with shotgun+buckshot since it has a knockback.

I carry an M41 and a buckshot shotgun. Best to have both so you can always have ammo and be versatile. With 200+ people on ammo can be a problem, even worse when the prep rooms are overrun. I joined the round an hour late and found delta prep only had 5 mags of M41 ammo left, almost all the buckshot was gone, and not even 10 min later a zombie had found its way into it.

Both these guns really make for a good team when you use them right, their your sword(M41) and Shield(shotgun).
M41 is your sword because it's what you should be using most of the time for its long range and accurate damage as you hold a line or are just moving around in general. The UGL attached is also handy for doing good damage to groups of zombies twice so I'd keep it on over any other option. You don't really need other attachments for it but an RDS never hurt anyone. At least don't take a mag harness for it, if you get knocked down during a zombies round your already infected and done for.

The buckshot shotty is your shield and really your MVP as well. Its whats going to keep you alive when things get dicey. Any zombie that gets the idea it might have a chance to bite or scratch you just blast its ass to the floor and keep on walking. Rinse, wash, repeat whenever they get to close for comfort. As far as attachments go just don't lower your ROF for anything, your shotgun is your shield so you need it firing as fast as it can so you can keep zombies on the floor.


On the topic of less useful weapons, SMG's and any pistol are super useless. Pistols just suck no matter what, even the revolver, and the M41 is better then the SMG in just about every way.
Melee is more likely to get you Infected/killed then hurt the zombies at all. Don't take a bayonet or machete at all, keep your boot knife in your boot unless your already infected and its all you have left.



Just started thinking about spec weapons now. The sniper is amazing, fire bullets do gods work no matter what your fighting. GL is best saved for when you know its going to fuck up a bunch of zombies. Sadly the SADAR just like normal doesn't have the ammo to be effective and becomes useless on the Almayer. Other special guns like the DMR and Heavy Pulse are far too rare to really matter and cargo is going to horde all the good shit for themselves during these rounds even more then during normal rounds.

Alright, so after playing a round, the strongest weapons:

The flamethrower is THE BEST WEAPON to use against a zombie, it kills them within 10 seconds of being on fire very quickly and also denies them the area to go through, shotgun doesn't damage them much (I was a mercenary with a custom built shotgun and it took me about 17 slugs or more just to kill one fucking zombie, and no even a slug kills a marine in about 3-5 shots, buckshot can do that in 3 shots depending on additional.) but the knockback is useful for trapping them somewhere or in general getting them away, so either have both a shotgun and a flamer, or have a buddy with a shotgun/flamer and you will be good.

Always make sure you see the fact that the text of them ACTUALLY dying appears, zombie infection is quite common, and zombies can attack while resting, they could be pretending to have died, and then you walk over and BAM, they gotcha and you will soon be part of them.

Aim for head, they lose their helmets because of that giant head, and in general its a secure way to know that its dead once they are beheaded and you can haul it to containment or whatever zone so they don't fuck you over more when it suddenly rises up again.

Also don't fucking use SMG's on them, while it CAN kill them, you would have already killed 3 zombies with a rifle by the time you critted one with a SMG.

Flame is lore-wise and play wise the best way to kill a zombie. Area denial is by far the greatest enemy to zombies especially in the numbers, but if you're fighting only one zombie I recommend going melee since they're slow.
