Crucial Info Regarding Claymores
Claymores can be triggered even if they are beneath floor tiles. that's right. pry open floor tile, place claymore, then place floor tile back on. TELL EVERY ENGI YOU KNOW!

This is probably a bug more than a valid strat, so it'll probably be fixed as soon as the devs take notice.

All competent marine strats are "bug" that need to be nerfed according to staff. No competency allowed on this server!Sneakyr wrote:This is probably a bug more than a valid strat, so it'll probably be fixed as soon as the devs take notice.
Edit: Even if aliens are winning, they will STILL cry "that's unfair", with the 75% odds in their favor.

So how the fuck does APOP expect marines to coordinate strats if all good strats get nerfed or removed? The fuck?Heckenshutze wrote:I once said, 'best tactics are those that you don't make public'

It's a bug man. You should have exploit it like a good powergamer until someone else notices it, not saying it here.

It isn't a bug until a staff member declares it is.

Re: Crucial Info Regarding Claymores
You know. When I die as a Marine, I don't get pissed off at the fact I could've won a fight if it weren't for xenos being superior in many aspects, and I don't fucking whine about their valid tactic being unfair either. At the end of the day your argument relies on the idea that because a TEAM won, it means one individual shouldn't be complaining about a bug that caused his death.Araulius wrote:All competent marine strats are "bug" that need to be nerfed according to staff. You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Yes, someone earlier literally just said that.solidfury7 wrote:It is a bug.

I said that because I don't understand how I was supposed to assume that was a bug.

I just thought I'd remind you considering you are bitching about the fact bugs are patched in multiple threads.Araulius wrote:Yes, someone earlier literally just said that.

Bugs aren't secret tactical strats. They're exploits.
A good way to work out if they're intended is using your noggin or asking around.

Try putting a floor tile on top of a claymore in real life. Or think doing it, how would it end?

Re: Crucial Info Regarding Claymores
Seeing as how a Claymore in real life is detonated off of a command wire, and not a laser/motion detector that Call of Duty would make one believe, it would add to the shrapnel being sent towards the target.Heckenshutze wrote:Try putting a floor tile on top of a claymore in real life. Re: Crucial Info Regarding Claymores
Who cares whether or not one thing gets removed because it's a bit? Just cover it with junk like people always do sand still do. Hell, why do the marines even do this? It's one round out of the 17 a day, in one server in one game on the entire internet.
This to me is just kinda pointless. Why do marines cri every time one thing is fixed that wasn't supposed to be there in the first place? Why do xenos complain that they die to these tactics when there's always a new body or another game or thing to do? Play the game to enjoy the role play and action, die and wait for the next round. It's literally one thing that happens ever like 10 rounds, and it may be kinda upsetting, I get it, but people need to remember this is just a game, there are other games like it, and they aren't dead forever. Play for the experience, not for the win.
I do think it should be fixed, and I dunno why it's even used. It would literally only work inside either nexus, or hydro. Those are the only two buildings marines bother to defend anyway.

Re: Crucial Info Regarding Claymores
Why on earth do you people keep telling all the hidden strategies?
Well, at least this one isn't very important and actually deserves a fix, you can still put everything else on top of it, and its preety fucking OP that you can hide a claymore like that, a xeno can't not alone see its, but also right-click where it is, its basically a instant-death sentence you had no chance to counter or even see.

Do you mean hiding the mine underneath the floor tile item, or hiding it like it's a pipe under the floor?Araulius wrote:Claymores can be triggered even if they are beneath floor tiles. that's right. pry open floor tile, place claymore, then place floor tile back on. TELL EVERY ENGI YOU KNOW!
