You were doing ok, the fact we had no flamers nor miniflamers (RO closing down for line-fighting was bs) to remove stuff quickly was the real issue.

Was on Big-Red. Most of the game we were serving as a QRF, so we had been sitting near the Bar when we started having xenos engage us from the west as we went to advance east to help Alpha. Basically surrounded, I kept trying to use the tactical binos to call in CAS to clear a path either way so we could get out, but I kept getting bumped into. Eventually, a standard with buckshot put me in crit while firing at a Runner which led to me being evaced somehow, but we'd get boarded about 10-15 minutes later and SD. Fun times.

Yea RO doing that was really shitty "Let's fuck over all the marines because two guys fought in my line" like he's allowed to do that but just because you can doesn't mean you should

Joined about 5 minutes late on lowpop ice, got assigned charlie, got my loadout handed out the incen, missed breif, but got my objectives from command, go restore engineering, we restore engineering without any hitch, new orders after restoring were to form up on elevator and go down and clear below hangar, we do that and hold while I had to ask for new orders 4x, all the while t-comms is under seige, finally we get told to move to t-comms, get there blow tons of shit up and while holding tcomms, finally queen and crusher charge, I get pulled away and crushed , queen gibs me. After I die rest of marines get pushed back and evac, Honestly did better than I thought I would.

Normal game start like most SL map is ICE, blah blah breafing and stuff. Command orders us to go underground, We go underground, 20 minutes of My cowardice later spec and most PFC's are dead im left with a medic and an engineer we go and do what any sane SL would do and have a beer party at the bar While t coms is getting fucked
A massive attack moves into bar , i run to the lz1 *Gets fucked by a crusher* and thats how it ended

Never been an SL, although i think it would go pretty bad with me getting some people killed or captured at the very beggining of the round

My first time as SL is abit foggy, but I wanted to be SL as I was a regular SO role person.

I don’t remember specifics, but it was really easy as I knew what marines wanted and I knew how command would be along with knowing the SO team at the time, all in all it was a decent run, I acted like the regular SL marine killing bugs calling CAS.

I tried squad leading the same way I do when I play Project Reality. Turns out typing is real slow, and shit will attack you as you sit still and type out orders. I also learned quickly that most people won't get the order because the combat logs flush out the chat. I also learned that you have to be very neutral to get marines to listen to you.. in Project reality, you kicked whoever didn't listen, other people got the message quickly, allowing you to channel your strategies and plans through your men with ease. In CM SS13, I figured out quickly that because you can't 'kick' a marine, they will ignore your commands if they don't like you and there is little you can do in the immediate moment. In project reality, if someone was whiny or toxic, you could boot them and prune off the bad apples. A bad marine in your squad in CM is along for the ride. As soon as he starts shitting on you, your other men are going to start slowly thinking the same thing, because the negative attitude is like a poison. God forbid you punish that person by threatening jail time, because now even more people will hate you for that. You simply can't get 100% of your men listening to you like you can in project reality. Took me a month or so to figure out that you just gotta respect people, and then pray they will follow your orders.

Oh gosh, as most of you know I main SL as Sam 'Stunner' Abrams.

First time, was after I had just played like 5 maybe 6 years ago after a few rounds as a grunt and played engineer got the hang of it, this was when plasteel literally didn't move and it stopped a crusher dead in it's tracks with a smack sound. ahh the old days. My first experience as an Sl I led Bravo. Bravo back then was considered like the just shit or horrible players lol, today it's not bad. Just fobbers ya know. but, anyway We were on LV as there was only two maps at that time, between Whiskey outpost and Lv, first time LV we actually won surprisngly it was cause I had a great spec doing work hotshot was really the reason, and he rmacros. But, yeah i twas kinda a shitshow in terms of managing everyone, then I really focused it hard on lowpop making sure that i'd be able to learn how to become an SL that leads from the front but can also cordinate from the back. the first time SL on whiskey outpost. I took my team to the same side as i believe Delta and we left the entire LEFT side of the map wide open and undefended lol, it was a massacre. So wasn't my shining moment. But, hey first times on anything are always a little hectic, but it was fun.

Im gonna simplify it a lot, as i see no need to make it more "absorbing".

>Prison Station, Charlie SL
>Scout research and get to north high-sec
>Research and medbay look fine
>Now into maints...
>Is this wrong way?
>Why there's only medic, spec and few PFC's with me? Where's the rest of squad?
>Xenos? Let's wreck 'em
>It didn't go as i planned... retreat
>*Sounds of marines getting wrecked*

And my second time was also on prison, you know what? Im not gonna play on prison until i'll get some experience on other maps.

I really DON'T RECOMMEND playing first time as SL on prison. This map is really... tricky.

Horrible.

I believe I had forgotten about supply beacons. And keeping the squad together was painful.

We pretty much died immediately.
