Some kind of gunnery sergeant/first sergeant/sergeant major

The kind that goes around disciplining marines and teaching the newbies.
I second this. A common rank to see attached in real life platoons, but how can it translate to CM SS13?

Would the gunney go on the ground to oversee the OP, assist in the CiC.. what would he do?

I think maybe a guide, like someone lightly armored and equipped to scout ahead, basically land before everyone else and scout out the situation, or perhaps just a heavy gunner to go along with the SG, or like an option between a HPR and a SG? Probably will think of something better later.

That's unlikely to be added, the role of lightly armoured scout is played by the scout specialist, and the smartgunner is the futuristic equivalent of heavy gunner, so it kinda makes no sence to have two heavy gunners.

Yield orders given by CIC on the ground with a megaphone also has the highest "Issue Order" buff, in effect and duration. Also ICly teach boots shit.

Similarly, something like a "Fireteam Leader" as designated second-in-command ahead of the specialist, since specialists often seem to have zero interest in actually leading their squads or carrying support equipment once the SL is down. Give them tactical binoculars, a single beacon or so, and SL-equivalent leadership buffs so they can lead fireteams and so the squad can still have some CAS/resupply options if the SL died and no one grabbed the stuff from their body.

I also second the "Intelligence Officer" idea officer from earlier, as a more USCM-loyal foil to the Corporate Liason. Would also give the CL something to do if command is ignoring them completely and no survivors made it up.

Either ship-based Gunnery/Navigation crews to make use of those beautiful, yet vacant, missile and AstroNav rooms in the fore, or a Liason's assistant or bodyguard. While I would love the former, it'd be much simpler to implement the latter. The Liason has a wonderful role to play, but, more often than not, they are alone, and left to their own devices, especially during LowPop. Giving them a co-worker/conspirator would encourage additional Role-playing aboard the Almayer, or on the ground.

Experimental Exosuits would be awesome and a QoL addition for R&D. Also, bugger the lore on this--There is no reason to be so anal about lore as to pigeon-hole the dev ability to make the game more fun. Since the suits are "Experimental", they can be deployed ONLY with CO discretion in the event of emergency (Like when Marines are pushed back to FOB), to make them more feasible lore-wise but also improve the mid-game tedium.

I would also say the addition of front-line Corporal or Lance Corporal roles with slightly improved weapons (For instance, two HPR or DMR-equipped LCPL per squad as fire support would be nice). One of the unacknowledged issues of the new high-pop standards is that it is extremely unlikely you will ever play Spec or Smartgunner when you sign on as Marine. A lesser firesupport role would help alleviate some of that competition for the position but still mixup gameplay a bit.

First Responder Medic

Same skills as Squad Medic, less focus on shooting. Not assigned to any squad, working between POs and Medical. About 3 of them per round would probably be ideal.

Their job would be to fly on the dropships and prepare wounded marines to be quickly deployed to medbay. Doing first aid, putting them in stasis bags and on stretchers, setting the triage cards, transporting them into medbay if needed, communicating with medbay as to what's going on. You would probably have one on each dropship, plus maybe one at FOB.

I'd prefer their name be Paramedic, but the idea works. They should be the first one to response to wounded, doing basic triage (some pills here and there), and carry the wounded to medbay.

Maybe not one at FOB though, since you'll be taking the planetside medic's job.

I believe a more military solvent title would likely be something along the lines of "Triage Nurse" or "Surgeon's Mate".

I think the mortar is in a really bad spot right now and could use the tank crew treatment by making it it's own role with two slots.

I absolutely agree with you. Currently, trying to find a proper, dedicated crew out of the engineers is a shit-show at best.

I think a warden type brig role would be nice, as most cmp’s patrol and most mp’s get bored
