'Member when you could shoot through grills, and the FOB meta became a 4 layer thick egrill fort in tcomms so that you could keep power online
'member when marines would shock themselves on the egrills, so engineers started putting up tables to prevent that, but marines would still find a way to touch the grills and then yell at the engineers
'member when medics and engineers were arch nemesis's because egrill burnt marines would eat up all of the medics time and burnkits, so some medics would resort to grabbing insulated gloves and sabotaging engineers autism grill forts resulting in near civil wars during operations
'member when the dropship(what was the name of the droppod and shuttle again? I forgot the names) wouldn't crash into the Sulaco when aliens sent it, resulting in shuttle ping pong
'member when the moment the aliens hijacked the shuttle everyone would rush to bring grenades and UGLs to the hangar to spam the fuck out of the shuttle
'member research grenades single handedly winning wars
'member the mad dash to build an egrill fence around DS1 the moment the aliens would call it. We used to compete to see which engineer could build a hangar defense the fastest
I 'member

Also this is probably one of the features I miss the most tbh.

I REALLY miss Sulaco evac/SD, to get out alive, you had to give it everything you had to defend that 3x3 hallway and get on the escape shuttles. Best part was that you'd leave while the ship explodes with the xenos still on it. Oh, and my favorite was the midi that would play. Made me feel like there was a true goal to accomplish or something like that.

Tcomm FOBs were a beauty to behold.
"Huh, would you look at that... We are screwed yet again."
Plays as Phil "Termite" Smith

You can give a smartgun to every marine, and they would still find a way to FF with it.

I'll raise the bar a little. Single RO line, marines putting attachments without leaving it. No MPs, no staff online.

Also, rounds ending at 12:15 since it was lowpop and nobody was the queen.
A failure, also called a semi-competent medic sometimes.

Two things come to mind

-waiting 30 minutes to get your ID assigned to a squad
-creating hellfire poly-acid smoke grenades and melting the world back when researchers had a purpose

Evac/sd was the best thing the Sulaco had. I wish they'd re-introduce that because it's a far better motivation than just "Oh well, let's blow up the ship for some sense of duty and patriotism" Instead of a much more real "We need to get the fuck out of here as fast as we can"

Rip evac, I wish you could've had stayed longer.
Best interaction with i've had:

+1 when you get behind the xeno rush and get sent to deathgulag by Comrade Emitter
James "Car" Irving: You don't need to be the best to be a hero. You don't even need to be smart. Being a hero comes from the heart. That, and a pack full of napthal and hand grenades.
Edward Roth: The promotion and transfer to Military Police was great on paper. The living hell of keeping a ship full of trained killers running smoothly wasn't on that paper.
Mary Adams: She didn't want to be here, but how else could she get to finish medschool? And who the hell else is gonna know the difference between Tricord and Kelotane?
Kimley Greco: Too cool for school, wears cans like a tool.
Xenos killed with a welding tool: 1
Times blown up self or others with grenades: Lost count.

Before the fog in LV was introduced and both sides understood the value in playing it slowly and carefully, much of the round was a series of long, tense skirmishes rather than one giant all-out war in the caves or at the Nexus. On the flipside, however, Xenos would rush south of the caves at roundstart and set up a hive in Hydro that they could cheerfully wave at Nexus Marines from.

When every squad had to share the same eight vendors, and each vendor was stocked with 8-10~ M41A AP mags.

When Xenos weren't affected by a slowdown while pulling things, could pull anything on the ground and a bug allowed Runners to pull Boiler clouds into groups of Marines.

When Marine FOBs were mostly reinforced tables and Ravs became valuable siege engines.

When all four Specs would pick SADAR, abandon their squads and group up to rush the hive en masse.

When the Xeno hive was equal parts resin walls and another part whatever random junk the Xenos pulled to create cover.

When the LZ in LV had that one broken down Ripley wreckage that could only properly be destroyed by a Crusher, and infuriated so many Marine engies.

When playing Crusher was a sacred martial art of moonwalking back and forth in a 4x4 room to create momentum and then charging one tile into a Marine and killing him with full force, and the subsequent rage when it was nerfed.

When the Queen screech sound was replaced with "AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA" for a week on April Fools.

When the Queen sprite was changed to a dancing gif of Freddy Mercury and fought a Durand that had a dancing Michael Jackson as it's sprite.

When the grenade launcher was still overpowered as shit but shunned and never chosen because it wasn't in the SADAR meta, and the B18 armor was separate.

When Boilers couldn't shoot through Xenos and spent most of their time trying to reposition and screaming at other aliens to get out of the way.

When Carriers were OP, salt-inducing meme machines that thrived off the rage and fury of marines because huggers only had a short two second delay before they became active (assuming it wasn't a direct hit)

When Marine helmets could block a single facehugger before becoming useless.

When survivors with shotguns and welding helmets could solo the entire hive at roundstart.

When there was no PO and MPs frequently fought each other over dibs of who got to be the designated "pilot" for the Rasputin.

When Xeno combat literally revolved around the two facehuggers that any caste could carry in their claws.

When Xeno mains were a thing and a Ravager and two hunters were capable of soloing an entire Marine assault of 30+ with minimal assistance.
