Squad Leaders : you have medical training, stop forgetting it !
According to the wiki, skillset of medical is set to "Trained", which is logical.
That means that SLs can read pills and pill bottles labels. (You can also use ALL autoinjectors : oxyco, dexa+, QC, and shits, so if you can loot a lifesaver bag from a dead medic on the battlefield, feel free to do so if there is no needy medics around).
These are fucking awesome for :
- Treating light injuries really well
- Prevent death from medium/severe injuries (give you the time to send your boys to the nearest medic or triage center)
- Treat yourself fucking efficiently (1 pill Trama + 1 pill Kelo, and spitters can't do shit if you avoid some of their hits : well.. if they don't neurotox you, of course).
Do not fucking forget that these pill bottles enhance your squad sustainability on the frontline. Your boys can stop whining, leave less often the frontline and can make you proud more (higher possibilities for you to have a mehdawl, insult other squads for being less efficient than yours, etc.)
At the beginning of each round : ask for a Medhud from your corporal medic, or ask one at the medbay, along the said pill bottles (read the loadout below). You cannot vend yourself the pill bottles, so ask a nearby corporal medic or ask a doctor/CMO around.

Here is a loadout including shitload of ammo, all your SLs shits and pill bottles (using M41 rifle)
Large mag pouch : 3 M41 regular mags (your regular/emergency reload when click clik)
Large general pouch : Tactical binos, 1 AP mag (Tactical reload against Ravagers/Crushers/Queen) and a roll of gauze (bleeding)
Armor pouch : Orbital Beacon, 1 frag grenade
Webbing : Tramadol pill bottle, Kelotane pill bottle, Bicaridine pill bottle
Backpack (not satchel for more space) : C4, 1 frag, 1 AP mag (to replace your large general pouch AP when depleted), 2 to 3 Supply Beacons (try to give one to your spec or a trusted squaddie), the rest with M41 mags.
You have : sustainability, ability to stun, ability to counter Ravagers (limited ability to counter Crushers because of scarce AP mags), easy reload, easy access to the most used tools.
Backpack is annoying, but that's why you put your "situational" shits in there. You don't put a supply beacon while having a hostile on you, same for C4. Remember to refill your large mag pouch with your backpack mags when you have some seconds to breath.

See you around SLs. And make some light triage (medics and marines will love you).

I have M4A3 with flashlight and a single AP mag directly loaded at the waist (no holster for having the extra visibility and not relying on the armor flashlight which got really shitty)

Please, no, don't encourage NCOs to powergame like this.
I know you don't think it is powergaming, but trust me, if every NCO started acting like secondary field medics, the staff are going to NERF the fuck outta em and we lose yet another gift that marines have.
We lost our right to fart, the ability for NCOs to use spec weapons, and our right to crawl. I don't want NCOs to lose their training in fields such as medical either.
It is a nice playstyle, I'll give it that, but let it be YOUR thing. Keeping things on the small scale keeps it alive for a lot longer.

Drugs are only authorised to be distributed to field medics at roundstart. You need to get authorization from the CMO and CO before you start doing this or you can expect to see brig time.

Or simply ask one of the medics do get it for you if youre lucky.
Besides if the skillset is there, it means its there for you to utilise. NCO means non-comissioned officer, which ranges from a private to a mig sergant. Its only fair for SLs (Staff Sergants) to have the ability to perform these secondary roles. Keyword being secondary, since youre still busy for the most part actually leading your team, calling cas, running in to place OBs, yelling in the radio and fending off aliens that get too close.

If the medics give you drugs and are caught, they will be charged with unlawful distribution. Squad Leaders are not authorized to have medication at roundstart.

The laws work when everyone agrees with em! We dont. Hehehe. Kidding, but yeah its illegal only if youre caught.

Crawl ability was removed more because xenos complained it was almost impossible kill the marine when pounced. So it was tears over gameplay here.Renomaki wrote: ↑22 Nov 2017, 15:38Please, no, don't encourage NCOs to powergame like this.

Anyway, didn't knew about it, I gonna use it probably in the future. Also, break the law and you will be punished by death. Murder charges.

Re: Squad Leaders : you have medical training, stop forgetting it !
Welp, I don't keep things for myself. I want people to share knowledge on what makes things easier to play one of the hardest role on the USCM side.
It is not powergaming, because it is in the skillset. End of story. (A PFC using pill bottles, someone tells him what colors correspond to what and he he medicates himself from this moment IS powergaming, because he DOESN'T have the skillset, which means, RPly : he didn't have any training to comprehend OD treshold, medicine properties and shits).
It may be marine law breaking, but, as the Squad Leader is supposed to HAVE A MEDICAL TRAINING (RP translation of the skillset), then, why should he prevented to have BASIC pill bottles ?
Just to say : I just yelled on command channel and global channels for SLs to get a Medhud and some pill bottles, not arrested, not a single fuck from MPs so far.
If nerf happens, I'll just return to have more ammo and use my regular gauze/ointment/trama injector. That's just it. Right now, I can contribute to help my field medics, and I'll keep doing that. As a SL, I play for the team, never for myself.
I do not try to maximize success chances by their maximum potentiality. I want to help my squaddies, help my medics, protect my squaddies, protect my medics, kill the xenos. If brig happens, then brig will be. If nerf happens, then nerf will be.
@Renomaki : What your argument is : SL is a privileged role, and we should do exploit the privileges for our own interests, by fear of nerfing. My argument is, I have no fear from nerf, I'll just adapt. And before nerfhammer (IF nerfhammer happens) I'll make rounds easier for my squad.

Just saying, the PMC SL also has medical training, that's why he can use the lifesaverbag autoinjectors and improve PMC sustainability to burns and brute damage.

Re: Squad Leaders : you have medical training, stop forgetting it !
Marine law exists for a lot of things, one of which is to stop power gaming.
If you want to pop yo pills, get permission from command along with everything else your squad does.

Aye, I understand that. I'll take the reflex to ask to the AC at the beginning. Just to avoid any troubles.

Re: Squad Leaders : you have medical training, stop forgetting it !
It is in skillset but the problem is whether doing it roundstart is ok. I believe it is not ok as the similar case of bringing bags of ammo down in the first deployment is not ok as well.
Asking command first is a good step but still it's up to mods.
